Rise and shine, Camp Gatonina.

With yesterday's announcement weighting on your mind, you are left to your own devices for the entirety of the morning. The 7:00 AM bugle call will announce breakfast as usual, and those who still manage to retain an appetite under the current circumstances are free to make their way over to the mess hall in order to grab a bite.

It is not until 12:00 PM that something changes. Coming as a surprise to none, given your past experiences, your body will move of its own accord towards the Mess Hall. You are powerless to resist. The Mess Hall doors will lock once everyone is inside, and for some reason — your vision will momentarily blur before everything snaps back into focus.

Winter Wizard, Purple Heart and Black Shadows will be seated at a table by the enclosed bulletin board. Their bunnies will be beside them, dressed impeccably. They share a look, visibly uncomfortable, before they rise from their seats.

"So it seems one of your own has been killed. Now's the time to work together and find the responsible party."

"Nine hours remain to discuss and locate. Still have time."

"We'll help you as much as we can from our end, too, so... Good luck."

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the third trial!

We'll go over a few notes briefly as we will be playing this trial a bit differently than other games.

While there was a mini-investigation on Friday, today is the day participants can really dive in to investigate areas in the game setting, check over the body and review evidence that they find! Please see the toplevels in this post for more information. To help with the ease of the trial and for IC mechanics, only one location may be visited at a time. One of your NPCs will also be accompanying you on these visits.

Most importantly, before the trial is over, please place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously. Please also be sure to read the voting page carefully.

The group of us from last week have agreed to use one of our items that can reveal one fact about something - Taako suggested we use it on the 'stork can'. If that would be beneficial, we'll proceed with that.

There's also the yellow tab that was pulled off. Another option.

A tab... I suppose that would be the most likely to hold fingerprints? It also likely wouldn't belong to Hikage, since he wouldn't have been holding onto any prizes from completing the most tasks the past few weeks.

Though if the killer was wearing gloves or any shit like that, we're not getting fingerprints, but--

We only just discovered fingerprinting was an option, so I think it's a solid choice.

Well... I trust you all and what you need to do regarding fingerprints. [she's deadass too ye olde for this]

I believe Minako mentioned the tab could have been removed with the killer's teeth... but it's an option, regardless.

[she tilts her head]

It wouldn't get an imprint from someone's teeth?

The powder's meant for fingers, so it might not be as useful.

I think that would be useful. Since...we have no idea what a "stork can" is. If it's an item with an ability, we need to know how it was used.

We'll have to hope it's useful - but if that's what we all want to use it on...

What the hell is a stork can... or is that what we're trying to find out?

Precisely that. We don't know anything about the function of the item at the moment.

It's just a can with a stork image on it...

[But why a stork... what the heck... he's so confused]

It looked like that was the label? Usually these things have brand images on them. But I have no idea if that is a real brand, or just some made up camp thing to be quote-unquote cute.

So storks probably got nothing to do with what the item actually does. Got it.

For what it could possibly me, what immediately comes to mine is possibly a smoke grenade, because the smell is similar to what the can smelled like. Fireworks. That's just a guess though.

Assuming a smoke grenade, the killer threw it to hide themselves and attacked him right outside the cabin?

It could also explain why Hikage might not have actually hit anyone if he shot his gun-- he wouldn't have been able to see.
