Rise and shine, everyone! At 7:00 AM on the dot, those who are asleep will be roused from their slumber by the sound of a bugle call. It seems that breakfast is now served in the Mess Hall. How nice! It's up to you to decide if you want to continue sleeping or not... But maybe it's a good idea to grab a bite and explore your surroundings. After all, it looks like you'll be here for a little while. Regardless of what you do, be sure to check the weather before stepping outside. You never know when you might need an umbrella! Once you're up and at them, though, there are a few points of interest this week. If you swing by the Director's Office, you will find Black Shadows manning the receptionist's desk or flitting in and out of the rooms down the hallway. This week's tasks are now available, and you can check them out on the announcement board in the waiting room. Should you visit the Camp Shop, Purple Heart will be handling all transactions at the checkout counter. Even camp directors hold down normal jobs, you know. Strangely enough, Winter Wizard doesn't seem to be stationed at any set location. Maybe it's their week off? Oh, well. Seems like if you want to get ahold of them, you'll have to pay your respects to the bunnies. Finally, though all seems normal at first glance... You will quickly realize something is wrong the moment you start interacting with other people. Or, more specifically, once you come in physical contact with them. For the rest of the week, anyone who makes skin-to-skin (or whatever counts as skin, for the non-humans) contact with someone else will find themselves in a bit of a sticky situation. Whatever body parts touched will be stuck together for the next hour, with no way to separate them. Try not to create additional points of contact while trying to cheat your way out of this situation, yeah? That would be unpleasant, for each spot will last an entire hour. Good luck. |

Thank you.
[ he'll frown, though, when the paper towel rips and the remnants of it get stuck to this fingers. very sticky, then. he'll keep trying to pull off the torn paper towel bits from his fingers but will end up transferring them from hand to hand. ...not that it has him skipping a beat with the conversation. ]
Is it just the marshmallows that are involved with s'mores?
no subject
No, there's also those crackers involved, as well as chocolate. It is some sort of sandwich, I think. [ There's still plenty of ingredients around from where everyone left stuff. He'll clean up eventually, but... he's got time to kill, so. ] Someone showed me earlier, and people seem to enjoy them quite a bit.
no subject
People certainly came prepared.
[ he'll take some time to familiarize himself with the crackers and definitely make sure that the chocolate there is the correct chocolate. ]
Did you enjoy them?
no subject
They are apparently a delicacy in Camplandia.
[ He says this without complete seriousness before skewering one of the marshmallows to toast it over the open flame, musing with a quiet hum. ]
Whether I like them or not, this sort of food is a bit wasted on me. So I'd prefer making them for others.
no subject
but "camplandia"... giyuu has enough wits about him to know that this place is hardly going to be called "camplandia". does he know what it might be called in its place though? no. he lets dimitri have it, though. ]
Wasted on you?
[ that's a strange thing to say. did dimitri not like sweet things? they never really had a lot to go around on the island, so. ]
Why would they be wasted on you?
no subject
I don't really favor sweets. I try not to be picky, but it's better served to someone who might enjoy it more.
[ He doesn't dwell on it long, instead holding out a skewer for Giyuu. ]
Why don't you try making one for yourself?
no subject
What did you do with the ones that you were practicing with?
[ did he just give them away or has he been suffering as he eats them. either way, giyuu will proceed to figure out that clearly the marshmallow goes between the crackers. (could he have waited for instructions? yeah? did he? no.)
now for the the chocolate too? hm.
there's no way that giyuu understands the mechanics of it to do it without making a mess so enjoy seeing him having squished marshmallow fluff over his fingers that is also holding together the crackers and there is just melting chocolate into his hands.
this. did not end well. ]
no subject
[ He trails off, watching with rapt attention at. Whatever this is. There's no room for humor in these situations, and even if everything weren't tense and weird, he ought to keep it together because it'd be rude to laugh.
But it's... well it's kind of sad, isn't it? He can't quite stifle a chuckle, surprised. ]
You've been so competent, I'm grateful to see you're bad at something.
no subject
hm... an idea (inspired by the game he had been playing) comes to mind. ]
Open up.
[ yeah.
he's holding the mess in his hands to dimitri's face as penance for laughing at him. this...is fine, right? something that two...friends...would do. or is this not allowed between them? well, there's no time for second guessing himself as he scoots a touch closer to dimitri with the mess that his s'more hands. ]
1/2
Giyuu. [ He is so serious. ] Do not approach me with that Some More.
[ He is not getting gross marshmallow fluff on his new clothes. When Giyuu scooches closer, he instinctively leans back, one arm flying up to slap him away in self-defense— ]
no subject
—Ah.
no subject
giyuu will unconsciously try to pull his back to see that both of their hands move has he does. hm. so they're definitely stuck together now. how to make "hand holding" more disastrous? add a messed up s'more. this is the path that they have walked.
he could have just let giyuu feed him s'mores but, no, now they're stuck together like this. these were your choices dimitri. giyuu is silently judging him for this choice...especially since the heat of their hands are just making it a further mess.
THIS WAS REALLY YOUR CHOICE DIMITRI. ]
no subject
He can sense the Judgment in Giyuu's silent gaze, and though Dimitri is the ever-responsible Crown Prince of Faerghus, he is also 17 and for this one moment in time, actually sounds like it. ]
Do not look at me that way. This is your fault.
no subject
that said, despite being the actual adult between the two of them, giyuu doesn't stand that much higher than dimitri on the matter. the tone completely rolls off of him (he has heard worse) and continues to stare at him with judgement. ...but a sliver of humor leaks into his voice. ]
I don't see how it was.
[ the marshmallow fluff between their hands softening and melting right along with the chocolate. this is not how government mandated hand holding should have gone. ]
Do you really hate sweets that much?
no subject
I rarely have much of an appetite...
[ it's not sweets specifically, probably. he sighs, pulling giyuu along as he reaches for more paper towels. ]
Please do not put the blame on my tastes. You should take responsibility for your crimes, Giyuu.
[ his s'mores crimes. ]
no subject
I do.
[ he's somber for a moment—he can't help it even if he isn't referring to the island. (he thinks, at least? dimitri would call him out for it differently... perhaps?) ]
It's what I'm trying to do here. [ giyuu will cooperate with dimitri's attempts to get closer to the paper towels. ] Are there foods that you do like?
no subject
That's not what I...
[ ...No, it's fine. They both know he wasn't talking about the island, but that's going to loom over them for more than a few days. It seems that Giyuu is making an active effort to make things better, which he doesn't know what to do with, but he still makes a (careful) effort to clean away all the extra marshmallow muck. ]
I prefer the sort of food you would eat on a cold day. Warm and filling.
[ so s'mores should be fine?? but anyway, ]
...What of you, Giyuu? We have more options now than fish and fruit.
no subject
Simmered daikon with salmon.
[ giyuu answers easy enough as he watches dimitri try to clean up the mess they found themselves in. ]
It's nothing that you would just eat on a cold day, but I could make it for you to try.
[ well, that's under the assumption that dimitri would accept anything he offered him. still, it's something he offers—remnants of advice from a while ago. ]
