Rise and shine, everyone! At 7:00 AM on the dot, those who are asleep will be roused from their slumber by the sound of a bugle call. It seems that breakfast is now served in the Mess Hall. How nice! It's up to you to decide if you want to continue sleeping or not... But maybe it's a good idea to grab a bite and explore your surroundings. After all, it looks like you'll be here for a little while. Regardless of what you do, be sure to check the weather before stepping outside. You never know when you might need an umbrella! Once you're up and at them, though, there are a few points of interest this week. If you swing by the Director's Office, you will find Black Shadows manning the receptionist's desk or flitting in and out of the rooms down the hallway. This week's tasks are now available, and you can check them out on the announcement board in the waiting room. Should you visit the Camp Shop, Purple Heart will be handling all transactions at the checkout counter. Even camp directors hold down normal jobs, you know. Strangely enough, Winter Wizard doesn't seem to be stationed at any set location. Maybe it's their week off? Oh, well. Seems like if you want to get ahold of them, you'll have to pay your respects to the bunnies. Finally, though all seems normal at first glance... You will quickly realize something is wrong the moment you start interacting with other people. Or, more specifically, once you come in physical contact with them. For the rest of the week, anyone who makes skin-to-skin (or whatever counts as skin, for the non-humans) contact with someone else will find themselves in a bit of a sticky situation. Whatever body parts touched will be stuck together for the next hour, with no way to separate them. Try not to create additional points of contact while trying to cheat your way out of this situation, yeah? That would be unpleasant, for each spot will last an entire hour. Good luck.

Just wooden swords and the like. [ or foam, but he doesn't know what that is ] I don't think live steel is a good idea considering... everything, but I would like to continue my training routines if possible.

I...really would not recommend live steel either. While we don't have wooden swords, we do have walking sticks? They may be a bit large but they might suffice for basic training.

Fighting with canes... [ He looks a little amused, like that's completely ridiculous, but it'll suffice. ] I will keep that in mind. In any case, I'm afraid I'm not terribly familiar with most of these other objects.

I know it's unconventional, but it's about the best I can do for you. [they sound a bit sheepish, but it was worth a try. at that though, they turn to glance at the store itself.] Are you familiar with any of the items here? Or would you like a tour? I'd be happy to explain anything about our merchandise.

I appreciate the effort. [ It was a stretch anyway, and he's distracted by the other objects now. ] And I won't take too much of your time, but... perhaps you could explain—

[ he's going to point out the cassette player, the flashlight, and... a glowstick. he is as ye olde as it gets. ]

My time is yours so long as you'd like. [that is to say...they're on store duty, dimitri, it's fine.] We'll go one step at a time. Surely you're familiar with music, aren't you? This device is a wonder that allows people to listen to music wherever they are. Of course, you have to provide it with music to play via a cassette which is a bit old school, I'm sure, but the sound quality is an experience.

[ he appreciates the patience with his dumb medieval brain, thank you, heart. case in point: a cassette being 'old school' is still several hundred years of innovation ahead of him, alas. he looks at the boxy music player curiously, head canted, listening attentively. ]

Portable music... how novel. [ bleak ] How about this next one, then? [ back to the flashlight ] Its construction seems much simpler.

It's soothing if you think about it. I believe there's one young lady here who has a more modern version of the same device from home. I'm sure she'd be happy to show you if you asked. [they turn to pick up the flashlight and then the batteries, hands moving slow enough to show dimitri how to load it before flicking the flashlight on.]

This is a flashlight. As the name indicates, it provides light in a flash. Flip the switch and a beam is produced for a certain distance. Quite useful for traveling in the dark and safer than, say, torches.
