Rise and shine, everyone! At 7:00 AM on the dot, those who are asleep will be roused from their slumber by the sound of a bugle call. It seems that breakfast is now served in the Mess Hall. How nice! It's up to you to decide if you want to continue sleeping or not... But maybe it's a good idea to grab a bite and explore your surroundings. After all, it looks like you'll be here for a little while. Regardless of what you do, be sure to check the weather before stepping outside. You never know when you might need an umbrella! Once you're up and at them, though, there are a few points of interest this week. If you swing by the Director's Office, you will find Black Shadows manning the receptionist's desk or flitting in and out of the rooms down the hallway. This week's tasks are now available, and you can check them out on the announcement board in the waiting room. Should you visit the Camp Shop, Purple Heart will be handling all transactions at the checkout counter. Even camp directors hold down normal jobs, you know. Strangely enough, Winter Wizard doesn't seem to be stationed at any set location. Maybe it's their week off? Oh, well. Seems like if you want to get ahold of them, you'll have to pay your respects to the bunnies. Finally, though all seems normal at first glance... You will quickly realize something is wrong the moment you start interacting with other people. Or, more specifically, once you come in physical contact with them. For the rest of the week, anyone who makes skin-to-skin (or whatever counts as skin, for the non-humans) contact with someone else will find themselves in a bit of a sticky situation. Whatever body parts touched will be stuck together for the next hour, with no way to separate them. Try not to create additional points of contact while trying to cheat your way out of this situation, yeah? That would be unpleasant, for each spot will last an entire hour. Good luck.

Sure. I wouldn't mind the help. You can help me measure the ingredients.

And keep me company while I wait for it to bake! That part is always hard.

I will! I'll be there for as long as you want me. It'll be easier for you that way!

I just sometimes forget that I was baking and wander off. So I have to stop myself from leaving the kitchen until it's done, just to be sure.

[ That's for the best.

That's also kind of a bizarre thing to forget in the kitchen, but maybe she just has a lot on her mind. ]

Does it take that long for a pie to bake?

[applechemist]

Well, it's slower than making it with alchemy. And I'm not as used to having to just sit around and wait while I'm in the middle of something.

You can make apple pies with alchemy?

[applechemist]

You can make anything with alchemy, if you figure out the recipe!

[swordflash]

That's amazing! What else can you make?

[applechemist]

I would say my specialties are explosives and medicine - and Logy handles the weapons and equipment.

[swordflash]

[ Er—explosives like dynamite? ]

Oh - Logy is my partner.

[ No, thank you. ]

Is your partner here?

[applechemist]

[ Very focused on these dishes. ]

No. He's not.

[swordflash]

[ Oh, no. ]

H-how many dishes do we have left?

[applechemist]

Not many more.

Bored already?

No!

But . . . see how much time has passed just from washing and drying the dishes? If we keep this up, we'll be that much closer to the day we go back to our worlds.

When that happens, you'll be able to see your partner again!

[applechemist]

[ Escha laughs lightly. ]

I can be patient, so it's better to just take our time and not think about that too much.

Those three said that this place would be peaceful. [ So there's no need to be too antsy, Escha figures. Considering this place is kind of... Better for her than what she'd be going back to. ]

[ What a lovely sound. ]

The Directors? They don't seem all that bad. And so far it's been peaceful like they said it would be.

[applechemist]

I'll feel better when it's been a full week.

[swordflash]

Can I ask you something? What was a week like where you're from?

[applechemist]

[ Escha just like. Stares blankly for a minute because Thots sure was. A game.

Then recovers. ]

Well... During the week there was usually something going on. Some kind of... Effect on people, or a puzzle to solve. Other than that we just spent our time exploring and trying to figure out a way home and what was going on.

Then at the end of the week someone would turn up dead. We would have to look at the evidence and try to vote for who had done it. Then we would exorcise the demon possessing them, which... Also killed the host.

... And then we'd do it again the next week.

[ Listen, he will never judge. ]

That sounds almost exactly like what happened at the house. How strange is that?

Was there a spell that put you to sleep every week, too?

[applechemist]

Yes. Like an... Enforced curfew. Waking up from it was never a good sign.

It's so hard to believe that a similar situation could occur elsewhere. Our situation felt so unique, but... With just a few different details, everyone else here was going through the same thing.

Yeah.

I hope it was just us. I can't imagine there being more places like that.
