[ this is a task that is at least familiar. though he didn't exactly do a lot of groundskeeping in his duties in the ghost city, there is nothing confusing about helping with the harvest or picking weeds. in fact, it's the sort of mind-calming activity that helps with, you know, not thinking about the fact that you're stuck in murder camp, so!
armed with his trusty shovel, yin yu can be found mask on and working out in the fields on wednesday after the rain, digging out the roots of pesky, pesky weeds. if you're struggling trying to get one out by the roots, don't get too surprised when someone speaks up behind you. ] ...I can get underneath it. If you pull it up with a little extra force, it will come out.
[ hi. masked, still somehow in all of his dark clothes despite the warm weather, here is yin yu, the earth master shovel tip down in the ground near the particularly stubborn weed. sorry for the startle. ]

[ yin yu is kind of a jack of all trades, master of none type of person, which means he is well equipped to teach any number of things. the easiest and most familiar is martial skills, especially with the impending week and whatever nightmarish dueling techniques they could end in; the faster someone can incapacitate someone else, the faster... well, you know.
so. at some point in the week, if you're looking for something to learn, yin yu is more than happy to teach a little self defense! if you're an early riser, you can catch him out by the lake. at sunrise, he's settled with his legs crossed at the beach, eyes closed, mask to the side of his head and motionless--meditating. but, after a while of that, yin yu will move into his morning routine. mask off, gloves off, sleeves rolled up, and practicing through martial arts stances with all the expertise of someone who has done it their whole life. he's used to not having any qi nowadays, and so, his motions are quite human, though still very quick, as he passes through a series of kicks and punches, dodging from an invisible foe towards the end and flipping backwards, very gracefully. tada... ]

[ not every skill has to be survival based, though, even if one is more useful than the other. being a cultivator comes with a few tricks and tools, and he has many, one of which is calligraphy! yin yu has requested a few small items from the directors and has set himself up at one of the tables. in front of him is a pot of ink, and a brush, and a couple of sheets of paper.
it's not a lot, but it's something. all he has to do is get some pupils of some kind, so. his quiet voice speaks up if you're passing by. ] Excuse me. Have you finished your task to learn something, yet? I might have something to teach.
[ otherwise, you might find him writing an example out in characters, his handwriting neat and crisp and lovely. ]

[ somehow i wrote this top level and there were still more tags on the overflow than when i started it on the main post yesterday. get at me if you want something or send me a disco if you've got an idea for pcs instead ♥ he can ostensibly teach just about any useful skill you can imagine in ancient china times and needs to be taught, too. ]
