Rise and shine, everyone! At 7:00 AM on the dot, those who are asleep will be roused from their slumber by the sound of a bugle call. It seems that breakfast is now served in the Mess Hall. How nice! It's up to you to decide if you want to continue sleeping or not... But maybe it's a good idea to grab a bite and explore your surroundings. After all, it seems the fog has receded enough to reveal a few new locations. Regardless of what you do, be sure to check the weather before stepping outside. You never know when you might need an umbrella! Once you're up and at them, though, there are a few points of interest this week. If you swing by the Director's Office, you will find Purple Heart manning the receptionist's desk or flitting in and out of the rooms down the hallway. This week's tasks are now available, and you can check them out on the announcement board in the waiting room. Should you visit the Camp Shop, Winter Wizard will be handling all transactions at the checkout counter. Even camp directors hold down normal jobs, you know. Strangely enough, Black Shadows doesn't seem to be stationed at any set location. Maybe it's their week off? Oh, well. Seems like if you want to get ahold of them, you'll have to pay your respects to the bunnies. As you explore the camp, however... You may find yourself confronted by scenes from a not so distant past. Or, perhaps, the so-called-movies playing on the big screen are completely foreign to you. But that's not all you will have to deal with this week. Continue skimming the edges of the forest, and you will find yourself going down memory lane. Literally. To further complicate matter, at the start of this week everyone will wake up with a tattoo of a star on the back of their hands. Though you will be unaware of its purpose at first, it will quickly become apparent the moment you say the words "I wish" out loud. It's a wish granting star! Or, well, sort of. Regardless of what you wish for, the result of the wish is always material, small, and never actually useful for what the character actually desires. They cannot cause effects or change anything, nor will it result in a weapon or items that can be used to solve a murder. For example, wishing for an exit will result in an Emergency Exit sign materializing in your hands. You will all get three wishes each. The star will become fainter with each wish, until disappearing once they make their third wish. All items gained through this effect will disappear once Week 2 officially begins. Good luck. |

That's it that's the tag.]
crying
but, when he finishes a cycle of his breathing and finally opens his eyes again there is a person right there. yin yu nearly jumps out of his skin, jerking backwards and half into a fighting position before he stops himself, and it all sags out of him. ]
....Yasusada, what are you doing. [ you're going to give him a heart attack. (deja vu.) ]
he does his best
[As if he didn't obviously just scare the shit out of Yin Yu]
I was watching you to see if you were sleeping, but it looks like you weren't.
no subject
anyway, now that he's mostly gathered, he actually processes yasusada's greeting. Why would I be sleeping sitting up, he wonders... ] ...I was meditating... is that not something you would do? Or... the master of yours?
[ swordsmen who don't meditate???? ??? ?? ]
no subject
Meditating? [Yasusada tilts his head, brow furrowed, before he shakes it.] I suppose some of the other swords might, but I don't think Master does.
["is that not something you do" more like Yin Yu is that a real question]
What is it for?
(no subject)
mess hall is gonna be a mess
He pauses to regard Yin Yu first, and then what is laid out on the tables.]
Calligraphy...?
we love messy
well! yin yu nods. you get to see his face today! his mask is perched to the side of his head, and his expression is calm and friendly but otherwise pretty much unremarkable. ] That's correct.
no subject
I know how already. [Of course he does.] Do you know how to paint?
no subject
anyway! he tilts his head.... he does, because it's one of the gentlemanly arts, but, with a gentle smile: ] Perhaps not in the same style as you might. Would you teach me, young master?
no subject
[Damian puts the case on its side on the ground by his feet. The two pieces of cold-pressed paper are slid onto the table. Yin Yu gets one.
The palette turns out to be a child's watercolor set, and Damian opens it between them. But then he turns retrieve a cup of water, coming back a minute or so later.]

this time we wont be cucked by captcha
[ he gestures at the seat across from him, and passes one of the paper sheets along, too! ]

This is something my sister would've been better at, but I think I'll be quick student.
no subject
I see... [ a sister... well, you dont learn much about people when you only know them for a couple of weeks, no matter what kind of chaos you go through.
yin yu lifts the brush, picking up the ink, as he considers what to help her paint! ] ...One of the main aspects of calligraphy and painting is to use the strokes to show your own vitality, as well as the ability to be attuned to the harmonies of the world. When done properly, it can express a lot about the person who practices it, because it's a simple seeming art, but has as many variations as you can possibly imagine. If it's an art to help you feel close to someone, then, that is a good reason to learn it.
[ this is like the most words he's spoken in a while good job shinobu ] Would you typically use a brush to write your name?
no subject
She nods. The theory makes sense enough even if she's not sure how a brush stroke can show vitality?
me, squinting at japanese history: ]
I usually use a pen, but it's not like I've never written with a brush before.

farmland
ripping out weeds from the ground and disposing them because that's just what he's told he should be doing. per the usual case, he isn't spooked by yin yu but instead just nods at him when he does offer the shovel for help. ]
Thank you.
no subject
with that, he carefully steps down on the edge of the earthmaster shovel, using it as a wedge to help pull the thick end of the root all the way up so the weeds come out in a full piece. it's a big one, with lots of sprawling systems attached to it. ] It keeps them from growing back, if you pull them out all the way.
no subject
Oh.
[ he'll have his hand already wrapped around the weed when yin yu arrives with the shovel. ]
I see. [ giyuu fixes his grip on the weed and makes sure to pull the whole thing out. ] I don't have that much experience with this.
no subject
but. he pulls upwards; the big weed comes up pretty effortlessly, roots and all, into giyuu's hands. ] ...Truth be told, I don't either. It wasn't an uncommon chore in my sect, but I haven't done it since I was young.
...I try to learn as many skills as I can, though. [ just in case chengzhu will find need of them. you never know what he'll ask for. ] Let's move on to another.
no subject
It's fine if it can only count for one of them.
[ he'll nod though when yin yu decides that they should relocate. ]
For me, it was likely the same story. [ hm. ] When I was much younger but only for fun.

lake!
Either way, he spots Yin Yu meditating from afar and just kinda starts fuckin rolling through the sand in his direction. It's fine.]
—Are you another one of those "wake up at five in the morning" types?
[Rudely just interrupts his meditation like the shit he IS.]
no subject
ah, he asked a question. ] ...there are many duties to do in the early morning, [ like cleaning drunken, passed out ghosts out of the streets ] and they're often easier to attend to when it's less crowded.
[ so...yeah. it's an old habit, anyway. ] Are you, Master Wei?
no subject
Hah, you're right about that. There's hardly a normal soul up at that hour! [Wow Yin Yu would fit right in with the other disciples in the Cloud Recesses, how terrifying. He seems more amused by that than anything though, and the amusement only doubles when he shakes his head.]
On an average day, I only see five in the morning if I haven't blown out the candles for the night yet.
no subject
Perhaps you're a bit of a ghost yourself. [ considering. he looks down at him laying in the sand like a weirdo from where he's perched for a long moment. ] ...is that what you're doing, then? [ staying up all night...? ]
