POPULATION: 39 Rise and shine, everyone! At 7:00 AM on the dot, those who are asleep will be roused from their slumber by the sound of a bugle call. It seems that breakfast is now served in the Mess Hall. How nice! It's up to you to decide if you want to continue sleeping or not... But maybe it's a good idea to grab a bite and explore your surroundings. After all, it seems the fog has receded enough to reveal a few new locations. Regardless of what you do, be sure to check the weather before stepping outside. You never know when you might need an umbrella! Once you're up and at them, though, there are a few points of interest this week. If you swing by the Director's Office, you will find Purple Heart manning the receptionist's desk or flitting in and out of the rooms down the hallway. This week's tasks are now available, and you can check them out on the announcement board in the waiting room. Should you visit the Camp Shop, Winter Wizard will be handling all transactions at the checkout counter. Even camp directors hold down normal jobs, you know. Strangely enough, Black Shadows doesn't seem to be stationed at any set location. Maybe it's their week off? Oh, well. Seems like if you want to get ahold of them, you'll have to pay your respects to the bunnies. As you explore the camp, however... You may find yourself confronted by scenes from a not so distant past. Or, perhaps, the so-called-movies playing on the big screen are completely foreign to you. But that's not all you will have to deal with this week. Continue skimming the edges of the forest, and you will find yourself going down memory lane. Literally. To further complicate matter, at the start of this week everyone will wake up with a tattoo of a star on the back of their hands. Though you will be unaware of its purpose at first, it will quickly become apparent the moment you say the words "I wish" out loud. It's a wish granting star! Or, well, sort of. Regardless of what you wish for, the result of the wish is always material, small, and never actually useful for what the character actually desires. They cannot cause effects or change anything, nor will it result in a weapon or items that can be used to solve a murder. For example, wishing for an exit will result in an Emergency Exit sign materializing in your hands. You will all get three wishes each. The star will become fainter with each wish, until disappearing once they make their third wish. All items gained through this effect will disappear once Week 2 officially begins. Good luck.

[he peers down at it, then holds up the hand with the star on it.]

I believe it came from this-- I wanted something to draw with, but I really don't know how this is related at all!

[blinking, he looks down at the star on his own hand. no idea what nie huaisang means by that, but he returns his attention to the strange item as he comes closer to inspect it without actually taking it from nie huaisang.]

What are these dials for?

[unanswering]

I haven't tried them, honestly.

[he frowns down at them, but he's. holding it out to zenitsu. if it does anything weird then let it not be huaisang holding this thing!]

[he doesn't want to be the guinea pig for nie huaisang's hand spawn, but this is a red box. how bad can it be? nie huaisang's been holding it this whole time.

taking the etch a sketch, he turns it over in his hands and taps the screen—nothing—before trying one of the dials (gently).]

Ah!

[unanswering]

Oh-!

[he looks fascinated, but he's still letting zenitsu handle it, juuust in case.]

It made a line? Will it do that again-- ah, try the other one!

[swordflash]

[why is he turning the dials when nie huaisang is right there? zenitsu arches an eyebrow, but moves his hand to turn the other dial.]

It changed the direction of the line!

[unanswering]

It doesn't seem much use for drawing, but... it is interesting. I wonder how something like this works.

[technology is amazing...]

[swordflash]

[no idea.]

You said that it came from the mark on your hand. How did that happen?

[unanswering]

Oh- it just appeared, when I said that I--

[...he catches himself just in time.]

...if you phrase something as a wish, it seems to provide, but not very well. It's more faded now, isn't it? Or can you not see that-

[swordflash]

That's what it's for?

[he glances at nie huaisang's hand and nods slowly. does that mean the wishes are limited? and what did nie huaisang wish for that he ended up with toilet paper?

zenitsu studies the etch a sketch again.]

Does it want you to draw using this?

[unanswering]

I think so. I said I wanted something to draw with, and... this thing suddenly appeared.

[he still sounds a little doubtful.]

It seemed useless for it, so I tried to get paper instead, and that didn't work either.

[swordflash]

[that explains the roll of toilet paper.]

Well, what are you trying to draw?

[unanswering]

The flowers, here. It'd make for a nice scene, if I had the proper tools for it...

[swordflash]

[while nie huaisang explains, zenitsu tinkers with the dials some more. now there's a small splotch of lines in one section of the screen.

he holds the etch a sketch out.]

This is interesting, though. Don't you want to try it out?

[unanswering]

Ah, maybe... it really is better than nothing.

[he hesitantly takes it, and it shakes in the process, partially erasing those lines.]

What-! They can disappear?!

[swordflash]

[zenitsu leans in to inspect the screen again.]

Huh? How? All I did was hand it to you!

[unanswering]

I don't know-!!

[he peers at it closely, shifts it again-- ah.]

Moving it seems to make them vanish...

[swordflash]

That's good, isn't it? If you mess up, you can try again.
