Rise and shine, everyone! At 7:00 AM on the dot, those who are asleep will be roused from their slumber by the sound of a bugle call. It seems that breakfast is now served in the Mess Hall. How nice! It's up to you to decide if you want to continue sleeping or not... But maybe it's a good idea to grab a bite and explore your surroundings. After all, it seems the fog has receded enough to reveal a few new locations. Regardless of what you do, be sure to check the weather before stepping outside. You never know when you might need an umbrella! Once you're up and at them, though, there are a few points of interest this week. If you swing by the Director's Office, you will find Purple Heart manning the receptionist's desk or flitting in and out of the rooms down the hallway. This week's tasks are now available, and you can check them out on the announcement board in the waiting room. Should you visit the Camp Shop, Winter Wizard will be handling all transactions at the checkout counter. Even camp directors hold down normal jobs, you know. Strangely enough, Black Shadows doesn't seem to be stationed at any set location. Maybe it's their week off? Oh, well. Seems like if you want to get ahold of them, you'll have to pay your respects to the bunnies. As you explore the camp, however... You may find yourself confronted by scenes from a not so distant past. Or, perhaps, the so-called-movies playing on the big screen are completely foreign to you. But that's not all you will have to deal with this week. Continue skimming the edges of the forest, and you will find yourself going down memory lane. Literally. To further complicate matter, at the start of this week everyone will wake up with a tattoo of a star on the back of their hands. Though you will be unaware of its purpose at first, it will quickly become apparent the moment you say the words "I wish" out loud. It's a wish granting star! Or, well, sort of. Regardless of what you wish for, the result of the wish is always material, small, and never actually useful for what the character actually desires. They cannot cause effects or change anything, nor will it result in a weapon or items that can be used to solve a murder. For example, wishing for an exit will result in an Emergency Exit sign materializing in your hands. You will all get three wishes each. The star will become fainter with each wish, until disappearing once they make their third wish. All items gained through this effect will disappear once Week 2 officially begins. Good luck. |

Yeah, I'd be up for that. I'm fucking awful at painting, but. That's what teaching is for.

I think you'll manage just fine.

... It's weird, isn't it. [ she says, glancing around the room. ] We spent so much time here just. To be back.

[but he busies himself with fetching her another piece of watercolor paper, placing the pigments and water between them, along with another brush.]
Here- try it with just colors, first, rather than any shapes? Make a shape with the water, and then add a little of the color to it.
no subject
Oh - okay? [ she says, skeptically. ] Isn't it gonna bend the paper, though?
[ she'll try anyway! carefully she'll just draw little clusters of circles with her brush. ]
no subject
[he shows her his own, which has in fact warped a little with all the water, but it's holding up decently enough.]
There, try the color now--

no subject
Like that! And if you add a color to the opposite side of the circle, they'll meet in the middle and blend together. Or...
[he wets the brush before touching it to the pigment, making a watery stroke of blue along another spare paper sheet-- it starts off bold, but fades into a wash of lighter color.]
no subject
Oh, okay, cool. [ she takes her own brush and draws another two circles, and this time lets the blue and the green blend together when they meet in the middle. she absently tries to feather the colors, just playing around with the brush. ]
no subject
Yes. Exactly like that.
-that's the basic concept, at least... you can use the water to outline shapes. It can make it a bit easier to control the color.
no subject
At least I can control that much. [ she murmurs, almost absent. ] I'll practice more. Maybe I can bribe the directors into giving us a crafts room like this.
no subject
[boy, does he feel THAT sentiment.]
But if you do manage that, you do know I'll be forever in your debt, Beau.
[right back to teasing!]
no subject
You never underestimate my power. Don't start now. [ she teases. she's painting flowers now, blue with gold, green with pink. ]
