Rise and shine, everyone! At 7:00 AM on the dot, those who are asleep will be roused from their slumber by the sound of a bugle call. It seems that breakfast is now served in the Mess Hall. How nice! It's up to you to decide if you want to continue sleeping or not... But maybe it's a good idea to grab a bite and explore your surroundings. After all, it seems the fog has receded enough to reveal a few new locations. Regardless of what you do, be sure to check the weather before stepping outside. You never know when you might need an umbrella! Once you're up and at them, though, there are a few points of interest this week. If you swing by the Director's Office, you will find Purple Heart manning the receptionist's desk or flitting in and out of the rooms down the hallway. This week's tasks are now available, and you can check them out on the announcement board in the waiting room. Should you visit the Camp Shop, Winter Wizard will be handling all transactions at the checkout counter. Even camp directors hold down normal jobs, you know. Strangely enough, Black Shadows doesn't seem to be stationed at any set location. Maybe it's their week off? Oh, well. Seems like if you want to get ahold of them, you'll have to pay your respects to the bunnies. As you explore the camp, however... You may find yourself confronted by scenes from a not so distant past. Or, perhaps, the so-called-movies playing on the big screen are completely foreign to you. But that's not all you will have to deal with this week. Continue skimming the edges of the forest, and you will find yourself going down memory lane. Literally. To further complicate matter, at the start of this week everyone will wake up with a tattoo of a star on the back of their hands. Though you will be unaware of its purpose at first, it will quickly become apparent the moment you say the words "I wish" out loud. It's a wish granting star! Or, well, sort of. Regardless of what you wish for, the result of the wish is always material, small, and never actually useful for what the character actually desires. They cannot cause effects or change anything, nor will it result in a weapon or items that can be used to solve a murder. For example, wishing for an exit will result in an Emergency Exit sign materializing in your hands. You will all get three wishes each. The star will become fainter with each wish, until disappearing once they make their third wish. All items gained through this effect will disappear once Week 2 officially begins. Good luck. |

[but he paints on regardless.]
I'll have to settle for this place existing at all.

[He's gonna wish for fingerpaints for Nie Huaisang. Anyway, as he's squinting at all these flowers:]
--Is this any particular garden? Are you painting from memory or from imagination?

[sadly, he was art blocked.]
So it's from what I remember of them, but not entirely.
no subject
[Their directors, he means. He'd suggest Nie Huaisang ask them for paints, but like, what if they're plucking off demon goobers or something?? Weird and bad.]
It's nice, though. Been a long time since I've gotten to see any of your work!

[he shakes his head, exhaling a wistful little sigh.]
It feels a little strange now, doesn't it? After so much time.

There are probably other chairs to be had around here, but Wei Wuxian just chooses to sprawl out on the floor instead, looking up toward the painting.]
Even before I came back, it had been a while, hm? [He was busy being a fucking maniacal mountain hermit, after all.] It is strange, though. A lot of things changed while I was gone, hah.

[huaisang's gaze falls to the painting, though his brush isn't moving. he's just... staring idly at it, shifting to rest his chin in his palm.]
It really would have been so much easier if things had just... stayed the way they were, before. But I suppose we only have the luxury of reminiscing now.

[He says it with a gently teasing tone, but, y'know. They all had to grow up at a young age and take on unimaginable burdens. They may only be in their thirties, but it never surprises him to run into a peer and see the same sort of bone-deep exhaustion, or a pining for better days.
Leaning back, he kicks his feet out, posture lazy and at ease.]
--Not much of a point in reminiscing in the end anyway, is there? The only way to move has always been forward.
[The past remains as regrettably unchanged as ever.]

[despite his somewhat pouty tone-- well. it really does feel almost like another life, to him, one where he still had to worry about his brother's scolding as he tried dodging his responsibilities. not at all like the one he lives now.
huaisang adds an idle brushstroke or two, there.]
Mm, but you're right, you're right... there's no helping such things.
no subject
He scoots his foot out, nudging Nie Huaisang's with it.]
Besides, wouldn't you feel embarrassed if we reminisced? After all, I'm sure whatever collections you have now put what you shared with me when we were young to shame!
[Why Must They Be This Way.]
