POPULATION: 39 Rise and shine, everyone! At 7:00 AM on the dot, those who are asleep will be roused from their slumber by the sound of a bugle call. It seems that breakfast is now served in the Mess Hall. How nice! It's up to you to decide if you want to continue sleeping or not... But maybe it's a good idea to grab a bite and explore your surroundings. After all, it seems the fog has receded enough to reveal a few new locations. Regardless of what you do, be sure to check the weather before stepping outside. You never know when you might need an umbrella! Once you're up and at them, though, there are a few points of interest this week. If you swing by the Director's Office, you will find Purple Heart manning the receptionist's desk or flitting in and out of the rooms down the hallway. This week's tasks are now available, and you can check them out on the announcement board in the waiting room. Should you visit the Camp Shop, Winter Wizard will be handling all transactions at the checkout counter. Even camp directors hold down normal jobs, you know. Strangely enough, Black Shadows doesn't seem to be stationed at any set location. Maybe it's their week off? Oh, well. Seems like if you want to get ahold of them, you'll have to pay your respects to the bunnies. As you explore the camp, however... You may find yourself confronted by scenes from a not so distant past. Or, perhaps, the so-called-movies playing on the big screen are completely foreign to you. But that's not all you will have to deal with this week. Continue skimming the edges of the forest, and you will find yourself going down memory lane. Literally. To further complicate matter, at the start of this week everyone will wake up with a tattoo of a star on the back of their hands. Though you will be unaware of its purpose at first, it will quickly become apparent the moment you say the words "I wish" out loud. It's a wish granting star! Or, well, sort of. Regardless of what you wish for, the result of the wish is always material, small, and never actually useful for what the character actually desires. They cannot cause effects or change anything, nor will it result in a weapon or items that can be used to solve a murder. For example, wishing for an exit will result in an Emergency Exit sign materializing in your hands. You will all get three wishes each. The star will become fainter with each wish, until disappearing once they make their third wish. All items gained through this effect will disappear once Week 2 officially begins. Good luck.

[He's not a baby. He knows these things. Huffing, he draws a stylized Japanese cloud on the corner of his own travel guide.]

It looks nothing like mine.

Draw it like mine. Then you can learn a task.

What, so this is for a task? Fine, then. I'll do it!

[This thug can stand to be more honest. Anyway, Zenitsu attempts to imitate Asch's cloud, and it's somewhat decent except for the fact that their drawing habits differ. His lines are always heavier and darker, and a touch exaggerated.]

[getdrekt]

Good.

[i mean

it wasn't?

but now it is??? do it!!!!!

he taps the new attempt.]

Bad.

What's so bad about it?

[He jabs a finger at Asch.]

Just because it doesn't look exactly like yours, doesn't mean it's bad!

[getdrekt]

[he knocks the finger away!!!]

Tch. It doesn't mean it's good, either!

Try this.

[he draws

a lovely still life apple.]

[Zenitsu looks (and feels) deeply scandalized after having his finger knocked away.

But there his hand goes again, moving perhaps too comfortably for Asch's artistic taste. The end product is about what one would expect by now, though it helps that an apple can't be monstrous (for the most part).]

There.

[getdrekt]

[WHY]

NO ONE WILL EAT THIS APPLE.

[swordflash]

[EXCUSE HIM?]

It's a drawing! Why would anyone eat that? And what are you getting so angry for!

[getdrekt]

You're supposed to draw it like I draw it! Fool! Draw it real-to-life, not real-to-death!

[swordflash]

[To death?]

But you draw so differently! I can't imitate that!

[getdrekt]

Give me your hand, idiot!

[swordflash]

[He preemptively pulls his right hand back.]

What if we get stuck again?

[getdrekt]

Idiot! That was last week's stupid residual effect! There isn't one this week!

[he motions]

Hand!

[swordflash]

[One can never be too sure. Asch barks, though, and Zenitsu is too afraid of getting bitten to deny him a second time. He sticks his hand out with a highly ambivalent look on his face.]

[getdrekt]

[He grabs Zenitsu's hand, and frowns.]

Now, look!

[and

somewhat shakily, because, Zenitsu

draws out an still life-style apple again.]

There. Look at the lines and the shading.

[swordflash]

[That's not a life-style apple. That's a squiggly apple.

But he's looking, all right. As he does, he's careful not to look anywhere near Asch. That's a lot of apples between two travel guides.]

Do you like apples or something?

[getdrekt]

[...]

They're fine.

[hE DOES!!!]

[swordflash]

[That's not a no.

Anyway, it's time for yet another attempt at imitating Asch's art. He's stressed out now, however, and so he sets the pen down after drawing in several lines of varying imitative quality.]

I can't do it! I can't; I can't!

[getdrekt]

Shut up! I don't want to hear it! You're always saying "I can't, I can't!", and then you do it anyways!

Skip to the doing it part! I know you can!

[swordflash]

That doesn't mean I want to!

Haven't I drawn enough? I'm sure this'll count for task completion, so let's stop now.
