Rise and shine, everyone! At 7:00 AM on the dot, those who are asleep will be roused from their slumber by the sound of a bugle call. It seems that breakfast is now served in the Mess Hall. How nice! It's up to you to decide if you want to continue sleeping or not... But maybe it's a good idea to grab a bite and explore your surroundings. After all, it seems the fog has receded enough to reveal a few new locations. Regardless of what you do, be sure to check the weather before stepping outside. You never know when you might need an umbrella! Once you're up and at them, though, there are a few points of interest this week. If you swing by the Director's Office, you will find Winter Wizard manning the receptionist's desk or flitting in and out of the rooms down the hallway. This week's tasks are now available, and you can check them out on the announcement board in the waiting room. Should you visit the Camp Shop, Black Shadows will be handling all transactions at the checkout counter. Even camp directors hold down normal jobs, you know. Strangely enough, Purple Heart doesn't seem to be stationed at any set location. Maybe it's their week off? Oh, well. Seems like if you want to get ahold of them, you'll have to pay your respects to the bunnies. As you explore the camp, however... You may find yourself confronted by scenes from a not so distant past. Or, perhaps, the so-called-movies playing on the big screen are completely foreign to you. But that's not all you will have to deal with this week. Continue skimming the edges of the forest, and you will find yourself going down memory lane. Literally. To further complicate matter, you will quickly discover that something about you has changed. At the start of the week, every single one of you will find yourselves aligned with one of four elements: fire, water, air or earth. Though your affiliation will not allow you to perform any outright elemental manipulation, you will find yourself reflecting your affiliation through one physical attribute. For example: A fire aligned may become hot to the touch, an earth aligned might discover their skin is now coarse like sandpaper, an air aligned might find their hair constantly flowing in an unfelt breeze, and a water aligned might be................. very sweaty. Whatever the case, this effect will fade away once Week 3 officially begins. |

[It's more symbolic than anything, this, but it does serve as an unpleasant reminder of how little they can do so far. Bad!]
But if nothing else-- Mm, I don't want to leave this here as it is, you know?

[he understands. the memorial hall was pretty drab otherwise, so. . . it's nice to see that WWX is giving it a little bit of color]
It's a nice gesture, too. And a good reminder that we have people counting on us.

[THEIR WANDERING DEAD... OFF IN POSTCARD LAND. He laughs softly, flicking another piece of paper into the small fire.]
--How do you honor the dead, where you come from? I'm curious. On the boat, there were almost as many customs as there were people there.

[It is wild being from Ancient Fantasy China, where Ancient Fantasy Japan's equivalent is Dongying and only like a tiny baby in terms of years.]

[nodnods]
. . . we have funerals back where I come from to honor those who have passed. People wear black and burn incense, and those who have passed on are usually cremated and buried in family grave sites.
The grave sites are open for people to visit whenever they want to. . . and when they do, they usually bring offerings of more incense or flowers and offer up prayers as they do so.
[he claps his hands together and bows his head, as though demonstrating]

[Instead they all get to die in various voids scattered throughout the (un)known universe which is fun!!]
It does smell a little like incense in here, I've noticed. Wonder if they're taking some inspiration from those of us who use it regularly when handling our dead?
no subject
It's possible. I wonder who even sets up the statues in here, anyway. . .?
[is it the directors??? how do they make them so quickly??]
no subject
Mmm... Well, they're not very pleasant-looking. [With their hollowed out eyes and gaping mouths...] They might have something to do with the remnants - the statues themselves, anyway.
[This may or may not be why he's piling flowers on to the cases. Who wants to be remembered by a weird gape-mouthed statue in a spooky empty room??]
But I did ask for a place to honor the dead once or twice, so maybe the directors maintain it?
no subject
Maybe. . . or maybe that's just your remnants manifesting themselves in camp in a particular way?
no subject
[Well, some parts of this funky little place are pretty familiar... The wafting of incense, the candles, the rows of cases - it's a tiny bit like an ancestral hall.]
...Well! If that's the case, I hope my remnants didn't make things too strange, haha.
