POPULATION: 37 Rise and shine, everyone! At 7:00 AM on the dot, those who are asleep will be roused from their slumber by the sound of a bugle call. It seems that breakfast is now served in the Mess Hall. How nice! It's up to you to decide if you want to continue sleeping or not... But maybe it's a good idea to grab a bite and explore your surroundings. After all, it seems the fog has receded enough to reveal a few new locations. Regardless of what you do, be sure to check the weather before stepping outside. You never know when you might need an umbrella! Once you're up and at them, though, there are a few points of interest this week. If you swing by the Director's Office, you will find Winter Wizard manning the receptionist's desk or flitting in and out of the rooms down the hallway. This week's tasks are now available, and you can check them out on the announcement board in the waiting room. Should you visit the Camp Shop, Black Shadows will be handling all transactions at the checkout counter. Even camp directors hold down normal jobs, you know. Strangely enough, Purple Heart doesn't seem to be stationed at any set location. Maybe it's their week off? Oh, well. Seems like if you want to get ahold of them, you'll have to pay your respects to the bunnies. As you explore the camp, however... You may find yourself confronted by scenes from a not so distant past. Or, perhaps, the so-called-movies playing on the big screen are completely foreign to you. But that's not all you will have to deal with this week. Continue skimming the edges of the forest, and you will find yourself going down memory lane. Literally. To further complicate matter, you will quickly discover that something about you has changed. At the start of the week, every single one of you will find yourselves aligned with one of four elements: fire, water, air or earth. Though your affiliation will not allow you to perform any outright elemental manipulation, you will find yourself reflecting your affiliation through one physical attribute. For example: A fire aligned may become hot to the touch, an earth aligned might discover their skin is now coarse like sandpaper, an air aligned might find their hair constantly flowing in an unfelt breeze, and a water aligned might be................. very sweaty. Whatever the case, this effect will fade away once Week 3 officially begins.

Probably. [ she says, with a sigh, glancing over at him. ] It's hard to stay in one place very long. I got bored.

[swordflash]

But this place is . . .

[ he leans into the doorway before finally crossing the threshold with one foot. ]

Are you still bored?

[disreguarded]

No. [ she leans back, and then just lays on the floor. ] No, I'm just sad, I think.

[swordflash]

[ that cinches it. his other foot crosses the threshold, and in the next moment he sits down next to her as he looks up at the figure of ogata. ]

Is it about what he said to you?

[disreguarded]

[ she slowly pulls herself back up to sit, wincing. mostly because she knows zenitsu will let her lean on him and she really wants human contact. ]

Yeah. What he said to me during our fight, and what he said to me the night before.

[swordflash]

[ when he saw the second task on the announcement board, his first thought went to beau, who's always been open to contact. now that he's here, he thinks it's fortuitous timing that there's such a task at a time when she could use the intimacy. of course he lets her lean on him. ]

He spoke so softly; I couldn't hear what he was saying. What did you talk about?

[disreguarded]

[ beau leans, wrapping her good arm around him, with a sigh. ]

Just - parents. You know. [ a beat. ] And he made me feel bad for him in the middle of the fight, which - I guess is why I'm missing part of my eyesight now.

[swordflash]

[ zenitsu doesn't actually know, but he can sort of understand the sentiment. ]

He used something as important as that against you?

[disreguarded]

I don't blame him for doing it. When you're gonna die, you have to do anything you can to stay alive.

[swordflash]

I'm sure we're all doing our best to survive, but still . . . Is the only way to hurt others?

[disreguarded]

[ she pulls him a little closer. ]

I wish it wasn't.

[swordflash]

[ sadly, wishing isn't enough. he turns his gaze to beau.]

Are you going to stay here?

[disreguarded]

... No, I don't think so. [ she slumps a bit. ] I shouldn't... torture myself, I know.

[swordflash]

[ he's quiet for a moment, if only because he doesn't know what to say to that. it's not his place to tell a grown woman what she should or shouldn't do.

another moment passes, then he ventures quietly: ]

Have you seen the horses?

[disreguarded]

[ she turns her face to nose at his hair a little. ]

No, not yet. You wanna go see 'em?

[swordflash]

[ he nods after she noses, mindful of her face. ]

You can name these, too—if they don't have names yet.

[ but please don't name them after the toilet. ]

[disreguarded]

[ she laughs. ]

Are you sure you wanna give me that responsibility?

[swordflash]

It's fun for you, right?

[ the horses can suffer strange names if it'll make her happy. to that end, he begins to climb onto his feet, but he'll stop to help beau up if she wants the hand. ]

[disreguarded]

[ ... just one sentence and she feels a little like she could cry, it's so strange.

she does in fact want the help, and she carefully stands. ]

... Yeah. It is. [ she tugs him close with his hands and gently presses a kiss to his forehead. ] Thanks.

[swordflash]

[ of course, he immediately reddens when she plants the kiss on his forehead. he almost swoons right then and there—but wait! ]

I, I have something else for you, too! I'll give it to you after we see the horses.

[disreguarded]

[ she laughs. ]

You do? You don't have to give me anything.

[swordflash]

Even if you say that, I still want to.

[ but first, the horses. it's time to lead her to the stables, which is not too far away from the memorial hall. they're not in a rush, so beau is welcome to take as much time as she needs. ]

[disreguarded]

[ she's a bit slow, but she keeps up fine. she's not like, a megafan of horses, but she does like them and she is experienced with them, which means they let her pet them and feed them apples or sugar cubes, whichever is on hand. ]

I gotta have a theme. [ she says, petting one. ] What do you think?

[swordflash]

[ not water closet.

he's no good when he's being put on the spot; however, he manages to come up with a concept after some thought while beau tends to the horse. ]

What about flowers?

[disreguarded]

Flowers, huh. Like roses and tulips and stuff? I don't know a whole lot of flower names.
