Rise and shine, everyone! At 7:00 AM on the dot, those who are asleep will be roused from their slumber by the sound of a bugle call. It seems that breakfast is now served in the Mess Hall. How nice! It's up to you to decide if you want to continue sleeping or not... But maybe it's a good idea to grab a bite and explore your surroundings. After all, it seems the fog has receded enough to reveal a few new locations. Regardless of what you do, be sure to check the weather before stepping outside. You never know when you might need an umbrella! Once you're up and at them, though, there are a few points of interest this week. If you swing by the Director's Office, you will find Winter Wizard manning the receptionist's desk or flitting in and out of the rooms down the hallway. This week's tasks are now available, and you can check them out on the announcement board in the waiting room. Should you visit the Camp Shop, Black Shadows will be handling all transactions at the checkout counter. Even camp directors hold down normal jobs, you know. Strangely enough, Purple Heart doesn't seem to be stationed at any set location. Maybe it's their week off? Oh, well. Seems like if you want to get ahold of them, you'll have to pay your respects to the bunnies. As you explore the camp, however... You may find yourself confronted by scenes from a not so distant past. Or, perhaps, the so-called-movies playing on the big screen are completely foreign to you. But that's not all you will have to deal with this week. Continue skimming the edges of the forest, and you will find yourself going down memory lane. Literally. To further complicate matter, you will quickly discover that something about you has changed. At the start of the week, every single one of you will find yourselves aligned with one of four elements: fire, water, air or earth. Though your affiliation will not allow you to perform any outright elemental manipulation, you will find yourself reflecting your affiliation through one physical attribute. For example: A fire aligned may become hot to the touch, an earth aligned might discover their skin is now coarse like sandpaper, an air aligned might find their hair constantly flowing in an unfelt breeze, and a water aligned might be................. very sweaty. Whatever the case, this effect will fade away once Week 3 officially begins. |

it is notably very much vegetables and pasta only. ]
no subject
Skeptically, he peers at it. Pauses for a long moment.
And then sprinkles some cheese on top of it.]
no subject
lets him get on with it. and add some cheese to his own pasta. ]
no subject
They did come from a game with a cannibal.
Begrudgingly, he tries some?]
no subject
[ ash just switches off the burner and hops up on the counter to tuck into his own bowl. ]
no subject
Where did you learn to cook?
no subject
[ somehow the look on his face is the true gift here. ]
no subject
Reasonable. Mother also didn't cook. We had servants for that.
no subject
Ohh. You from a fancy household then?
no subject
I suppose. Mother has the League, and the League has servants, assassins, guards, and mentors. Anything she needs. Father is wealthy, but he only has one servant in his entire estate.
no subject
...
[ suddenly a lot of things make sense. ]
Cooking’s not bad though. If you haven’t already, you should try it. Maybe give your mom’s tagalongs and you dad’s only servant a day off in the process.
no subject
I can cook what I need to survive. [So he knows, like, survival cooking skills at least. So close, yet so far.] I don't particularly have any use for becoming an epicurean.
Your efforts on this dish, however, are... noted.
no subject
There's a big difference between cooking to survive and cooking to, y'know. Eat. It ain't like you need to have a big fancy career in it to figure out to make something that tastes good.
[ hmmm. ] Thanks for the compliment then.
no subject
I'm aware. But I have no need for it. What I make suffices.
[He makes a face, but does not deny the compliment.]
no subject
Suit yourself. You planning on braving the spicy dishes in the mess hall for as long as they're being served then?
no subject
The spicy dishes don't bother me. I'm use to eating them.
no subject
Sure, but variety’s nice.
[ he nods at the rising steam ]
That start on Monday?
no subject
Yes. It's bothersome.
no subject
[ he just wanders over to the fridge/freezers and takes out an ice cube which proceeds to just melt like it's given up on life in his hand. ]
I'm running a little warm.
no subject
[One brow rises when Ash essentially climate changes the ice cube.]
Fire...?
no subject
[ ash shakes his hand to get the water droplet off. ]
It's warmer 'cause I've been in the kitchen, I haven't burned anyone yet. But yeah, seems like it is.
no subject
[He watches Ash inquisitively for a moment or two. He looks way too clinical about it despite being ten.]
I'm making an educated guess mine must be "air" related.
no subject
Air? Not fire? It looked kinda like steam.
no subject
We're both wrong perhaps. Water. My body heat must be making it evaporate like yours melts the ice. It's turning the water into steam.
