Rise and shine, everyone! At 7:00 AM on the dot, those who are asleep will be roused from their slumber by the sound of a bugle call. It seems that breakfast is now served in the Mess Hall. How nice! It's up to you to decide if you want to continue sleeping or not... But maybe it's a good idea to grab a bite and explore your surroundings. After all, it seems the fog has receded enough to reveal a few new locations.

Regardless of what you do, be sure to check the weather before stepping outside. You never know when you might need an umbrella! Once you're up and at them, though, there are a few points of interest this week.

If you swing by the Director's Office, you will find Winter Wizard manning the receptionist's desk or flitting in and out of the rooms down the hallway. This week's tasks are now available, and you can check them out on the announcement board in the waiting room. Should you visit the Camp Shop, Black Shadows will be handling all transactions at the checkout counter. Even camp directors hold down normal jobs, you know. Strangely enough, Purple Heart doesn't seem to be stationed at any set location. Maybe it's their week off? Oh, well. Seems like if you want to get ahold of them, you'll have to pay your respects to the bunnies.

As you explore the camp, however... You may find yourself confronted by scenes from a not so distant past. Or, perhaps, the so-called-movies playing on the big screen are completely foreign to you. But that's not all you will have to deal with this week. Continue skimming the edges of the forest, and you will find yourself going down memory lane. Literally.

To further complicate matter, you will quickly discover that something about you has changed. At the start of the week, every single one of you will find yourselves aligned with one of four elements: fire, water, air or earth. Though your affiliation will not allow you to perform any outright elemental manipulation, you will find yourself reflecting your affiliation through one physical attribute. For example: A fire aligned may become hot to the touch, an earth aligned might discover their skin is now coarse like sandpaper, an air aligned might find their hair constantly flowing in an unfelt breeze, and a water aligned might be................. very sweaty. Whatever the case, this effect will fade away once Week 3 officially begins.

Scoring. Because I don't forfeit until I'm dead.

[Well, he would probably forfeit to be fair, but he'd be very, very sore about it.

Turning and walking away to the arena space, he twists the sword skillfully around between his hands, testing it and warming himself up. He stops and looks thoughtful.]

Foil fencing. I know you likely don't know what fencing is, but you know kendo, don't you? Foil is the type of blade used; points can only be scored on the torso with the tip of the blade.

[ scoring works enough for him and giyuu would honestly believe that damian wouldn't give up until he absolutely had no other choice. it seems like something this intense child would do. ]

I do. How many points should we go to?

[ because, yeah, he doesn't know foil fencing but knows kendo. he isn't sure if the scoring areas are the same (jabbing someone in the head seems like a bad idea) but the basics should be easy enough. whenever someone is touched by the blade—a point.

hmm...actually—
]

Or should we just see who can score the first point on the other?

[Hmm. After a pause, Damian nods in acceptance.]

Fine. Whoever can score the first point. It must be on the torso only, front or back.

[The practice sword spins in Damian's hands again, and then he lifts the hilt high to his shoulder, the blade pointed down. His legs drop him in a ready stance.]

Understood.

[ torso—and only front or back. clearly damian is at an advantage with that scoring section given how much of a smaller target he is compared to giyuu but it's fine. the world won't give either of them ideal targets in every encounter.

to respond to damian's stance, giyuu takes something more conservative. his blade pointed down as he holds onto the sword loosely. he can already tell that damian might be more of the aggressive type.

will they need to call the start or will damian simply make the first move?
