You know how the story goes by now. One minute youâre somewhere familiar, and the next youâre suddenly somewhere else. Unlike previous times before, the source of your rude awakening isnât a mystery. A harsh jostle causes your body to lunge forward as a tire jumps over a pot hole in the road. Try as you might, itâs hard to ignore the steady thrumming of an engine and the gentle sway beneath you. The faint scent of gasoline seems to waft from the outside, but as you look around youâll notice that the windows are locked, tinted, and impossible to see through. Likewise, the door ahead of you appears to be locked as well. Perhaps the scent is your imaginationâŚ? Regardless, though the lighting is a tad dim, it becomes apparent that youâre inside a large bus dotted with the occasional seat and amid a jumble of other bodies. The people you were last with may be among your fellow passengers. Perhaps they are not. But worry not; thereâs plenty of time to look around and get to know one another on this long, strange trip. It may even be wise to examine the staircase at the other end of the bus. Who knows what awaits you on the other floors? Ah, but before you move too far it may be best to assess the situation. On the bright side, any injuries you incurred have been healed! Isn't it nice to have your limbs in place again? Miracles happen. But...what happened to your clothes? Youâre fairly certain you weren't wearing this t-shirt before...and what's with the denim shorts? Maybe you were fortunate enough to get the knee-length version, but for those of you waking up in bootyshorts...well, we're sure you look great! And what better way to tie the whole look together than white socks and tan sandals? At least you'll be comfortable for the ride. Lucky for you, your new threads aren't the only gift you'll receive upon waking up. Attached to your waist is a high-quality bag filled with some fun goodies for every passenger! For those of you who unzip your bag to check its contents, you will find: -Dry shampoo No other items are on your person at this time, even if you were holding onto it as you began your previous departure. That's a bit troublesome, isn't it? Not really; it's still a bus. Be grateful for the extra elbow room, alright? Oh, and one last thing...on the wrist of every passenger is a small, equally fashionable white scrunchie. Not your style? Perhaps it's a good idea to give the travel guide another read. Searching the bus from top to bottom will net zero results in the way of an escape. All of the windows are similarly tinted and locked, and the only exit door appears to be the one on the first level that can't be opened at this time. But hey. You're all old pros at this, right? You know what to do next! Get to know the people around you, trade stories with your fellow passengers, and...well. Buckle up for the bumpy ride ahead. |

[Possibly a literal one?? He blinks, reaching for a few bottles and a new mixer before starting up his cursed bartending routine.]
How did you end up with amnesia, exactly?
no subject
[I can't wait for Anaido to die from whatever WWX is mixing up.]
I don't recall. I just woke up on the island with no memories. I remembered a few things later, but...it's still fuzzy. Ah, maybe it had something to do with the murder case I was investigating...
no subject
Ah! You were investigating one, too? Small world, haha. Though it can't mean anything good if your amnesia is tied to that, can it?
[He's just thinking like, the culprit ran over and bashed him over the head with a rock or something.]
—Say, since you don't know your flavor preferences, why don't I make you a shot lineup?
no subject
[He actually sits up straight a little at that - the possibility of another brilliant detective like him...he thought he'd never see the day.]
A shot lineup? Sure, that's a good idea! Go for it.
no subject
Can't say being a detective is something I've ever been known for! Certainly not by profession, anyway. I'm a cultivator!
no subject
[His eyes narrow.]
Cultivator? [That's...a familiar word.] This might be a random question, but do you do feats with raising the dead?
no subject
—Most cultivators don't tend to dabble in that sort of thing, but yes, I do. You said you were from the island though, yes...?
[The manor is the only place he knows of that others from his world have been to, HM.]
no subject
[He stares down at the countertop for a moment, and lets out a little sigh, like a schoolgirl thinking of a crush.]
Ah, and what a man he was...
no subject
—Mind if I ask what the name of this good man was?
no subject
Ah, a wonderful man indeed. Wen Ning.
no subject
Ah, my good Wen Ning! [How did he get lucky enough for one of the only people who's on good terms with him to end up on that island DAMN.] The finest fierce corpse to ever exist, without a single doubt!
[But also WAIT WHY WAS WEN NING ALSO IN A MURDER HELL--]
How is he? How was he, did he get out of there alright?
no subject
[That's...it's a small murdergame world after all??]
[This really is one hell of a coincidence, though, and even Anaido looks a little perplexed, but happy to hear someone speak of Wen Ning in such good terms.]
He died but...ah, it's complicated, but him and I came back to life. We were going to go back to his world together.
no subject
I'm glad the two of you could come back. [EVERYONE ELSE GOT GET OUTTA JAIL FREE CARDS even more wild...] But if you're planning on coming to our world, you'd run into me sooner or later, anyway. We're just getting a head start! Ah - my name is Wei Wuxian. Wen Ning was the first fierce corpse I rose with a conscience, back then.
no subject
[This is...special, really. Wen Ning isn't here, but someone who was close with him, shared his history...]
[It makes him hurt all the more for the fact that he's here and Wen Ning is...somewhere, he supposes.]
Wow! That's so cool! I get to meet Wen Ning's necromancer in the flesh!
no subject
He laughs at that, though, and waves a hand in gentle dismissal.]
Hah, ah, well - I'm a friend to him before that, I'd say! But it's good to meet you-- ah, right, your name! May I have it?
no subject
[And he outstretches a hand.]
It's really nice to meet you.
