Rise and shine, everyone! At 7:00 AM on the dot, those who are asleep will be roused from their slumber by the sound of a bugle call. It seems that breakfast is now served in the Mess Hall. How nice! It's up to you to decide if you want to continue sleeping or not... But maybe it's a good idea to grab a bite and explore your surroundings. After all, it seems the fog has receded enough to reveal a few new locations. Regardless of what you do, be sure to check the weather before stepping outside. You never know when you might need an umbrella! Once you're up and at them, though, there are a few points of interest this week. If you swing by the Director's Office, you will find Purple Heart manning the receptionist's desk or flitting in and out of the rooms down the hallway. This week's tasks are now available, and you can check them out on the announcement board in the waiting room. Should you visit the Camp Shop, Winter Wizard will be handling all transactions at the checkout counter. Even camp directors hold down normal jobs, you know. Strangely enough, Black Shadows doesn't seem to be stationed at any set location. Maybe it's their week off? Oh, well. Seems like if you want to get ahold of them, you'll have to pay your respects to the bunnies. As you explore the camp, however... You may find yourself confronted by scenes from a not so distant past. Or, perhaps, the so-called-movies playing on the big screen are completely foreign to you. But that's not all you will have to deal with this week. Continue skimming the edges of the forest, and you will find yourself going down memory lane. Literally. After the events of last week, perhaps you yearn for privacy. Unfortunately, it seems that though your past will no longer be put on blast, your feelings will be made known to those around you instead. Should you come into physical contact with somebody else, you immediately become aware of whatever emotion they are feeling and vice versa. The feeling will linger for five seconds after physical contact has been broken, at which point it will fade. But the knowledge will remain with you. And even worse, it doesn't necessarily have to be skin-to-skin contact like in your first week. As long as you are physically touching them, that will be enough for the effect to take place. Whether you want to or not, it seems like this is the week to wear your heart on your sleeve. Good luck. |

Then let's head to the beginning of the course and see what you've got.

[ kara isn't one to turn down a challenge, after all. ]
On three...?
no subject
[setting himself up at the beginning of the course, poised to start running as soon as they hit "three"]
Care to do the countdown?
no subject
One... two... three.
[ he darts off that same moment, hopping easily onto the low course's swinging balance beam without pause. he's far from the fastest person in camp; akira may have that advantage over him, but kara is surprisingly acrobatic. he clears it in a few steps and easily hops onto the tire swings. ]
no subject
[he makes it past the tire swings, but not nearly as quickly as he'd like, which means Kara is probably keeping pace with him pretty well. if not even pulling ahead slightly]
[with a grunt, Akira pushes himself to move faster, because he can't fall behind!! not this time!!]
no subject
the mohawk walk slows him down a hair, but only just. somehow he has really good balance? so even when he's almost about to fall, he rights himself with a spin and carries on.
the role wall is up. next, right? cool. he'll just throw himself at that without sparing akira a glance. ]

[nobody ever said he couldn't cheat]
[SO BEFORE KARA CAN CLIMB THE WALL. . . Akira launches himself at his opponent in an attempt to full body tackle him from the wait down to the ground]
[if he manages to make contact than Kara is going to feel a lot of COMPETITIVE GLEE and DETERMINATION and slight frustration that he can't tackle this course nearly as flawlessly as he'd like]
no subject
of course, both the race and the emotion link are sparking even more competitiveness within kara. since akira saw fit to tackle him, kara doesn't mind turning to kick him away. ]

[CHEATER CHEATER PUMPKIN EATER]

kara scrambles back up with a growl and throws himself back into the race, letting the anger fuel him through it. he has enough strength to force his way through it quickly enough, and suddenly - he's over, and it's onto the next obstacle - the alpine tower.
he's never quite seen anything like it before, but he doesn't pause to figure it out, instead charging in immediately and letting the hand and footholds guide him alongside his instincts, with a healthy amount of glaring at akira's back as extra motivation. he makes it to the first platform in good time, but doesn't stop to breathe before hauling himself up to the top and toward the rope ladder on the other side. ]

[but]
[there is a moment when he reaches the first platform that his foot gets caught on the edge due to Akira miscalculating the distance. the snag trips him up, and he falls to his knees on the platform with a light curse. it gives Kara enough time to pull ahead again, though. . . not by much]
[with a grunt, Akira follows to the rope ladder, determined to not give up despite the trips he has already experienced that put him behind]
