Rise and shine, everyone! At 7:00 AM on the dot, those who are asleep will be roused from their slumber by the sound of a bugle call. It seems that breakfast is now served in the Mess Hall. How nice! It's up to you to decide if you want to continue sleeping or not... But maybe it's a good idea to grab a bite and explore your surroundings. After all, it seems the fog has receded enough to reveal a few new locations. Regardless of what you do, be sure to check the weather before stepping outside. You never know when you might need an umbrella! Once you're up and at them, though, there are a few points of interest this week. If you swing by the Director's Office, you will find Purple Heart manning the receptionist's desk or flitting in and out of the rooms down the hallway. This week's tasks are now available, and you can check them out on the announcement board in the waiting room. Should you visit the Camp Shop, Winter Wizard will be handling all transactions at the checkout counter. Even camp directors hold down normal jobs, you know. Strangely enough, Black Shadows doesn't seem to be stationed at any set location. Maybe it's their week off? Oh, well. Seems like if you want to get ahold of them, you'll have to pay your respects to the bunnies. As you explore the camp, however... You may find yourself confronted by scenes from a not so distant past. Or, perhaps, the so-called-movies playing on the big screen are completely foreign to you. But that's not all you will have to deal with this week. Continue skimming the edges of the forest, and you will find yourself going down memory lane. Literally. After the events of last week, perhaps you yearn for privacy. Unfortunately, it seems that though your past will no longer be put on blast, your feelings will be made known to those around you instead. Should you come into physical contact with somebody else, you immediately become aware of whatever emotion they are feeling and vice versa. The feeling will linger for five seconds after physical contact has been broken, at which point it will fade. But the knowledge will remain with you. And even worse, it doesn't necessarily have to be skin-to-skin contact like in your first week. As long as you are physically touching them, that will be enough for the effect to take place. Whether you want to or not, it seems like this is the week to wear your heart on your sleeve. Good luck. |

Even worse. [ a beat ] Well, not movie wise, it's kind of a classic, but jokes wise? Terrible. [ he puts the dvd in the stack he is trying to place. an insurmountable task when they keep flying out faster than he organizes them, but. ] You tried watching any of these yet?

at least for the most part the movies seem to be tamed once they're off of the shelves. it's putting them back on that's the problem, so yin yu's given up on trying to put them back for now, instead setting them down each time they go flying off of the shelf in a stack by his side. ]
I..have not, no. [ a beat; he catches another whizzing dvd case and sets it down. ] Natalie told me a bit about them, but I don't really know how they work, beyond just what they are.
[ Olde ]

Basically, you take this thing, and insert it-- [ they're in the entertainment room so finding the dvd player is really not that hard, so. he does that. ] In the player for it. This thing then plays it back on the TV. [ dick really is just putting dracula on in the background while they clean, i guess. ]
no subject
thank you for teaching him what a dvd player is. wao. we are learning so much this game. ] ...I see.
[ natalie had mentioned it was like a play, but really, it does remind him of chengzhu's butterflies... he watches the image flicker to life on the screen for a moment, briefly fascinated, but not so much so that he is going to get attacked by another dvd case. ]
...It's a bit funny, that things don't really change. It's really just a play. [ just, recorded and fancy. ]

[ hm... fond.
for now, he moves to go back to work, catching cases and reorganizing them neatly in stacks by his feet. they're sorted by color because what is reading. ] Do you have a favorite type, master Grayson?
no subject
Action or comedy, I'd say. I've definitely lost all taste for horror.
[ fuck murdergames ]
What about you?
no subject
he hums, making a slightly thoughtful noise. ] ...I've always liked anything about the lives of normal people. I suppose that's a bit boring.
[ but then again, when the plays you spend most of your time around in the autumn festivals are about the gods, it might be a nice change of pace. ]

[ dick like, would never be able to Be a normal regular person, he'd go nuts, but sometimes it's nice to see the people you do it all for ]
no subject
it's a life yin yu can't really live, either. one that probably suits him more than the one he's ever really had, but, it was never really in the cards. ]
In a way I suppose it's sort of an escape.

[ normalcy for the strange, strange for the normal... he's been on either side and knows where he belongs, at this point.
there's a moment where dracula the monster appears on the screen. yin yu pauses to look at it: almost imperceptibly, his nose wrinkles. ] Is that supposed to be scary...?
no subject
[ they are a terrible audience, is what he's trying to say. ]
no subject
[ dracula's not a plague causing nightmare ghost. or an ocean controlling ship sinking sailor eating ghost. or like, hua cheng. ]
no subject
Yeah. We've got our fair shares of real monsters back home too, and this guy kind of isn't that impressive. Maybe if vampires were real...
no subject
anyway. on the screen dracula goes to suck someone's blood. ] Ah... he's a jiangshi, then.
[ anyway dick's verse may not have had dracula but yin yu's does have actual vampires. ]
no subject
[ he should know what a jiangshi is but you know what i'm lazy ]
no subject
Do you?
no subject
no subject
[ they're scary to normal people??? yin yu? ] We have several that live in Ghost City.
no subject
[ as far as he knows, anyway ]

I think to many people in the mortal realm of home, they are still a myth, too. The kind of story you tell to children to keep them from misbehaving.
[ he gestures to the screen with a nod of his head. you know... scary stories. ] I deal quite often in the strange and unusual, although I'm sure that's not so surprising, either.
