POPULATION: 29 Rise and shine, everyone! At 7:00 AM on the dot, those who are asleep will be roused from their slumber by the sound of a bugle call. It seems that breakfast is now served in the Mess Hall. How nice! It's up to you to decide if you want to continue sleeping or not... But maybe it's a good idea to grab a bite and explore your surroundings. After all, it seems the fog has receded enough to reveal a few new locations. Regardless of what you do, be sure to check the weather before stepping outside. You never know when you might need an umbrella! Once you're up and at them, though, there are a few points of interest this week. If you swing by the Director's Office, you will find Purple Heart manning the receptionist's desk or flitting in and out of the rooms down the hallway. This week's tasks are now available, and you can check them out on the announcement board in the waiting room. Should you visit the Camp Shop, Winter Wizard will be handling all transactions at the checkout counter. Even camp directors hold down normal jobs, you know. Strangely enough, Black Shadows doesn't seem to be stationed at any set location. Maybe it's their week off? Oh, well. Seems like if you want to get ahold of them, you'll have to pay your respects to the bunnies. As you explore the camp, however... You may find yourself confronted by scenes from a not so distant past. Or, perhaps, the so-called-movies playing on the big screen are completely foreign to you. But that's not all you will have to deal with this week. Continue skimming the edges of the forest, and you will find yourself going down memory lane. Literally. After the events of last week, perhaps you yearn for privacy. Unfortunately, it seems that though your past will no longer be put on blast, your feelings will be made known to those around you instead. Should you come into physical contact with somebody else, you immediately become aware of whatever emotion they are feeling and vice versa. The feeling will linger for five seconds after physical contact has been broken, at which point it will fade. But the knowledge will remain with you. And even worse, it doesn't necessarily have to be skin-to-skin contact like in your first week. As long as you are physically touching them, that will be enough for the effect to take place. Whether you want to or not, it seems like this is the week to wear your heart on your sleeve. Good luck.

[ ... She would love to use the 'living cables' thing as an excuse, but the fact that she's managed to get same cables tangled around her own ankle was. Just her own failure. She's still very determined to untangle this mess!! ]

Wait - does that mean it's shameful that I couldn't catch stuff moving that fast?

Oh - no, no, not at all. [ fwip! another dvd case goes flying by, and he snags it before it gets too close. ]

I've been training in the martial arts for many years. If I couldn't handle something like this, it would be akin to if I were still just a child learning my first steps.

Wow, that's amazing... I feel like even if I trained, my eyes just can't keep up.

Was there a reason you were learning martial arts? A hobby, or...?

[shixiong]

[ . . . he blinks a little, trying to encapsulate it properly. how do you say "it's just everything" ]

...It was something that I pursued perfection in, once upon a time, mastery of the style of my sect. I taught disciples, as well, so it wasn't quite a hobby...

That's amazing - being that dedicated to something! I'm trying to be that kind of an alchemist.

What was it that drew you to martial arts?

[shixiong]

The practice had been in my family for many generations. I am the only son, so it was right. [ ... ] But, I liked it very much, too, so I wasn't forced. It was an honor.

[ hmmm... ] An alchemist... you mentioned that earlier. Is it a type of magic?

[applechemist]

I think having a family tradition like that is wonderful. I hope that some day I can pass on alchemy, the same way it was passed on to me by my mother.

[ So they seem to have that in common! Aw.

... But she frowns. ]

It's not magic. [ she sighs in resignation. ] ... But I guess that's the easiest way to describe it to people who don't have it in their world.

[shixiong]

I'm afraid that there are still many things I have yet to learn - I didn't mean any disrespect, my lady.

[ yin yu apologizes pretty much immediately, a bit sheepish, dipping his head. ] Would you mind explaining it to me?

[applechemist]

Oh, n-no, it's okay. It really is the easiest thing to compare it to, I should probably stop getting upset at people for saying so...

It's... Like cooking, but instead of food and ingredients you can use items - flowers, stones, potions. Anything, really. And you synthesize new objects using their traits.

[shixiong]

[ oh... that's very interesting.

he taps his chin, thoughtful, as he reaches for another case before it can fly too far in escha's direction. ] Could you give me an example?

Like, for example... If we use wood and some of the strange disks from the ruins, we can make music boxes. Or various herbs can be made into medicine...
