Rise and shine, everyone! At 7:00 AM on the dot, those who are asleep will be roused from their slumber by the sound of a bugle call. It seems that breakfast is now served in the Mess Hall. How nice! It's up to you to decide if you want to continue sleeping or not... But maybe it's a good idea to grab a bite and explore your surroundings. After all, it seems the fog has receded enough to reveal a few new locations. Regardless of what you do, be sure to check the weather before stepping outside. You never know when you might need an umbrella! Once you're up and at them, though, there are a few points of interest this week. If you swing by the Director's Office, you will find Purple Heart manning the receptionist's desk or flitting in and out of the rooms down the hallway. This week's tasks are now available, and you can check them out on the announcement board in the waiting room. Should you visit the Camp Shop, Winter Wizard will be handling all transactions at the checkout counter. Even camp directors hold down normal jobs, you know. Strangely enough, Black Shadows doesn't seem to be stationed at any set location. Maybe it's their week off? Oh, well. Seems like if you want to get ahold of them, you'll have to pay your respects to the bunnies. As you explore the camp, however... You may find yourself confronted by scenes from a not so distant past. Or, perhaps, the so-called-movies playing on the big screen are completely foreign to you. But that's not all you will have to deal with this week. Continue skimming the edges of the forest, and you will find yourself going down memory lane. Literally. After the events of last week, perhaps you yearn for privacy. Unfortunately, it seems that though your past will no longer be put on blast, your feelings will be made known to those around you instead. Should you come into physical contact with somebody else, you immediately become aware of whatever emotion they are feeling and vice versa. The feeling will linger for five seconds after physical contact has been broken, at which point it will fade. But the knowledge will remain with you. And even worse, it doesn't necessarily have to be skin-to-skin contact like in your first week. As long as you are physically touching them, that will be enough for the effect to take place. Whether you want to or not, it seems like this is the week to wear your heart on your sleeve. Good luck. |

[ Well. He can't let her drown or he'll get voted for, so...
She takes his hand! Her emotions are a shallow sort of nervousness, but that's overwhelmed by the genuine excitement. And, as probably goes for everyone, there's a repressed undercurrent of The Depression because murdergames are hell, even when you get to play in the ocean. ]

this, uh, translates as well as you'd imagine through the ol' emotion sharing. he just feels like he's trying desperately to hide the fact that his emotions are, overall, just. really negative. beside the general feeling of "no particular problem her" in the immediate sense, Asch's whole emotional palate is just the color of a bruise. anger, sadness, loneliness, and guilt, wrapped up in a handy package of self-hate, roll around in the background like an errant tornado.
he is desperately trying to think upbeat things, though?
outwardly, he looks mildly put out by the whole thing. embarrassing!!]
...Ignore that.

There's a bit of a feedback loop of his sadness and loneliness, but also a new, gentle press of compassion. She doesn't think those feelings are anything to be embarrassed of - but she does understand not wanting to talk about them. ]
... Sure.

Now, just let yourself go. Spread out your arms and legs, and let yourself float. Close your eyes, if it helps.
Think about floating. The water isn't going to hurt youâit's just lifting you up.
no subject
But also she feels a little bit awkward doing this so she laughs lightly. And closes her eyes, mostly out of embarrassment. ]

he lets go of her hand, letting her float completely freely, and places a hand just under her lower back, not touching, and hums, counting in his head.]
Good. Just keep floating. I'll tell you when you can stop. You're doing well.
no subject
Escha opens her eyes and turns her head to look up at him. ]
There aren't really people who don't do well with this step, are there?
no subject
How are you feeling?
no subject
[ she closes her eyes again. ]
A little bit scared. Like I could get swept away, or slip under, and there's nothing to hold on to or ground myself with.
But the movement of it is nice, and we're not that far from land. And you're here.
[ Just in case, if she did need something to hold onto. ]
no subject
[he keeps a hand just below her, and nods.]
The biggest part of swimming is overcoming that fear. Little by little, feeling confident enough to go into deeper water, farther from shore, knowing that your skills will hold.
But you can't swim if you're not buoyantâand if all else fails, floating takes no energy at all. It's your life raft, and your first step.
[he pats her back, a little frisson of pleased pride conveying through to Escha.]
That's a minute. You can stop whenever you want.

Escha holds onto Asch's arm to get herself back on her feet. Just... Just in case! She's still feeling a little embarrassed, a little nervous - but happy and excited. The same feelings she described herself, really.
Once she's back on her feet she lets go. ]
Alright, teacher! What next?
no subject
[these names sound the same, so it sounds like he's talking about himself in third person.
his emotions are the same as everâwith a beat of surprise, and even a little happy. pleased?]
no subject
[ learning... too exciting... Hmmmm... ]
W-well, I'm already here and all... And it just saves him time if I learn from you, right? [ wait but that makes it sound like she's alright just wasting Asch's time instead. ] I mean, if that's okay?
no subject
[it's teasing, but gently.]
I think you should learn to tread water, next. It's somewhere between floating and swimming.
[he drops completely into the water, and swirls his arms in circular motions, kicking his feet in a similar way. to avoid kicking the bottom, he brings his legs up closer to his body.]
Treading water keeps you afloat, in one place, and keeps your head above water. It's easy to do, and can give you confidence even in deeper water.
If you think you have the gist of it, give it a try.
no subject
Tell me if I'm bothering you, though. I'm sure you came here to relax, so I don't mind if you don't feel like doing this with me.
[ ... But for now, he seems willing enough... So she tries to mimic what he's doing. Which takes her a moment, because at first she pulls her legs up too high and her body just starts to like. Rotate sideways.
She figures it out though??? Yay. ]
no subject
[he flicks some water at her, lightly as she treadsâthen stands.]
Okay. Looking good. Ready to head a little bit deeper?
no subject
Can't I learn from here?
[ Deeper water... Scawy... ]
no subject
[he indicates her shoulders.]
Keep your head out of the water, and we'll try there. I'll be right alongside you.
no subject
[ Hrm. She's nervous, but she wants to learn, so... She ventures deeper and treads water. ]
no subject
and taps her on the head to convey his feelings (impressed, pleased, proud), because it's just honestly easier that way. emotionshare week owns!!!]

After that? It's kicking, putting your head under water, breathing out your nose, and strokes.
