Good morning, Camp Gatonina. The weather is, uh, out to fucking murder you. Hail falls from the sky, pelting down on anyone who dares be outside. Seems like it's a good idea to find something to shield yourself with sooner, rather than later. At 9AM, two hours after the bugle call for breakfast, you will be drawn to the bonfire. Your body will move of its own volition, giving you little to no time to pick up any sort of protection. As you approach the bonfire, you will find that you are not the only one. The Camp Directors and Yasusada seem to be marching to the same rhythm as the rest of you, their movements stiff as they approach from the direction of the Isolation Cabin. In light of the weather, it looks like the directors have acquired... ice umbrellas? Yes, ice umbrellas to shield themselves with. Once everyone has gathered in the same location, you will hear a voice that is recognized by none. "Two in a row? Meh. It's nothing to write home about. Zeeeeeero points for effort this time. Yamatonokami Yasusada, get over here." Yasusada will be forced to approach the fire, as everyone else takes several steps back to form something of an impromptu fighting ring around the bonfire. "As for your opponent... Oh, right. A certain someone forgot how to fucking pace themselves, didn't they? Losing limbs is sooooo cliche, but here's a fun and sexy idea. Flayn, why don't you join your new best friend? Loose lips sink ships!" Similarly to Yasusada, Flayn will be forced to approach the fire. Those in the audience will find themselves rooted to the spot, and the participants of the execution will hit an invisible barrier three feet away from the rest of the group if they try to escape. In her dominant hand, Flayn will find a 20-sided dice... though three of the sides are now blank. But that's not all. All numbers above 9 glow pink. For whatever reason, there is something about the sight that will fill all those who lay their eyes upon it with a deep sense of dread. You're all old pros at this. It goes without saying that it's time for the execution to begin. |

[and she can't tell yasusada not to fight? she can't. she has a feeling he won't truly kill flayn and yet—
she worries. she's terrified.]
I don't need a hand to hold right now, I need a weapon to crush that pink monstrosity!!

[ he turns his eyes back to the ring as flayn rolls for... a hammer, of some sort? and he frowns as he looks at yasusada. ]
I don't think he'll kill her. She'll be fine. She can do this.

If he walks out of this ring, I will break you before you can touch him.

Flayn isn't untrained. She's in an officer's academy.
... Yasusada knows there's no way that he walks out of this without making everyone else furious, too. And he... asked her what she wants.
[even if
flayn's response makes lili flinch. obviously.]
... Kara doesn't want to kill anyone needlessly - but he agrees with you. He knows Yasusada will need to break if he survives this.
It's just... about who gets to do it.
[about what camaraderie is - for swords.]

[ that's a solemn vow. yasusada will break today, one way or another - but of all the people who could do it, ookurikara won't allow taako to be one. ]

.... Yasusada knows there's no situation in which he walks out of this and doesn't incite everyone's fury.
Kara only wants a sword to break another sword - if it comes to that.
[why doesn't kara ever fucking use his words]

[swords are. so fucking swords.]
... it won't be an immediate attack, but I think there's something about it that the rest of us don't get to decide as right and wrong.
[she's an honorary sword but also not. she knows when to step out of their affairs - she just doesn't like to hear other people judging them.]

How about we let Yasuda decide that if it comes to that?

[she opens her mouth to say something else - but a glance to kara makes her bite her tongue.]
We wanted Yasusada to fight honorably but if... it's Flayn...
[how can he properly duel? and with those weapons? what mercy can they be afforded?]

[ . . .
he nods in understanding, as yasusada speaks. ]
He's letting her choose - that's the honorable choice, too.

flayn
speaks also and lili's breath is knocked out of her lungs - ]
I didn't...
[she didn't mean like this, flayn.]

I'd never call Flayn helpless.
[ - before realizing who she is snapping at, and.
gritting her teeth as she lowers her eyes to the floor in apology.]
.... I wish she listened to me less....
