Rise and shine, Camp Gatonina.

With yesterday's announcement weighting on your mind, you are left to your own devices for the entirety of the morning. The 7:00 AM bugle call will announce breakfast as usual, and those who still manage to retain an appetite under the current circumstances are free to make their way over to the mess hall in order to grab a bite.

It is not until 12:00 PM that something changes. Coming as a surprise to none, given your past experiences, your body will move of its own accord towards the Mess Hall. You are powerless to resist. The Mess Hall doors will lock once everyone is inside, and for some reason — your vision will momentarily blur before everything snaps back into focus.

Winter Wizard, Purple Heart and Black Shadows will be seated at a table by the enclosed bulletin board. Their bunnies will be beside them, dressed impeccably. They share a look, visibly uncomfortable, before they rise from their seats.

"So it seems one of your own has been killed. Now's the time to work together and find the responsible party."

"Nine hours remain to discuss and locate. Still have time."

"We'll help you as much as we can from our end, too, so... Good luck."

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the third trial!

We'll go over a few notes briefly as we will be playing this trial a bit differently than other games.

While there was a mini-investigation on Friday, today is the day participants can really dive in to investigate areas in the game setting, check over the body and review evidence that they find! Please see the toplevels in this post for more information. To help with the ease of the trial and for IC mechanics, only one location may be visited at a time. One of your NPCs will also be accompanying you on these visits.

Most importantly, before the trial is over, please place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously. Please also be sure to read the voting page carefully.

He reacted really strongly to one of those cupcakes - the one that Asch made. But he's swinging pretty wildly from angry about it and then curled up in a corner crying. It's weird, right?

Mood swings maybe? You ever come across a power that made a person's mood erratic when you were in the village?

It's possible... Maybe it's a mercy so that he's not just heartbroken - but I don't understand it at all.

If someone can make Carrot-top feel nothing, then it's not impossible someone can make another person feel too much.

We're not going to get any closer to figuring out who did what this week. Not when so many people admitted to using their powers.

I know it's not like, exactly relevant right now - but I'm thinking about it. Should we all discuss at some point if we should be doing the pink tasks or not?

Might be an idea. Until we know what they are or the point of them, we don't know if we're helping or hindering ourselves.

It may be worth asking the directors about, since we're encouraged to do tasks otherwise, right?

It was in the FAQ that nothing bad particularly happens if we do the pink tasks - they're just 'rudely worried'.

I suppose we'll have to make a judgment call on whether they're worth doing in exchange for resources that may help us, then.

It depends on how much you're willing to suffer, what risks you're willing to take, and whether you're fine with those risks impacting other people.

I think that's something that each person has to choose for themselves, and the rest of us have to decide how much we hate it.

Right, because they've been really super able to share information with us this whole time. [ ... ] I mean, we can? But I don't think we'll get the answers we want.

If you're waiting to ask questions with answers that you like, you're not going to learn anything. [ the worst that can happen is silence. ] In any case, we can table this for later.

Heart-han's memo from earlier this week said there's nothin' bad about doin' 'em... and I trust them.

I'm literally deaf right now, so I think the interpretation of what's "bad" or not is kinda flexible.

At the very least, we can ask Zenitsu when he's more... lucid about how he feels. [ it's sad, though. ] I'm frustrated that so many people may have used their powers on the same few people, but at least we're starting to get a better idea of what all of them are capable of.

People turned into play things for the sake of these stupid tasks.

But there's no point in chastising them when we don't know anything about the circumstances of use. It's possible that some of them even intended to help - but it all got out of hand.

[ he nods—it's not great! as they've seen firsthand. but... ]

Last week, we were struggling to envision possibilities because we couldn't account for so many of these powers. The silver lining here is that now we know what several of them do, and how they can be used for help or harm. It may not hurt to confer and go over what we've seen so far—but after this. We still have a trial to figure out.
