Rise and shine, Camp Gatonina. With yesterday's announcement weighting on your mind, you are left to your own devices for the entirety of the morning. The 7:00 AM bugle call will announce breakfast as usual, and those who still manage to retain an appetite under the current circumstances are free to make their way over to the mess hall in order to grab a bite. It is not until 12:00 PM that something changes. Coming as a surprise to none, given your past experiences, your body will move of its own accord towards the Mess Hall. You are powerless to resist. The Mess Hall doors will lock once everyone is inside, and for some reason — your vision will momentarily blur before everything snaps back into focus. Winter Wizard, Purple Heart and Black Shadows will be seated at a table by the enclosed bulletin board. Their bunnies will be beside them, dressed impeccably. They share a look, visibly uncomfortable, before they rise from their seats. "So it seems one of your own has been killed. Now's the time to work together and find the responsible party." "Nine hours remain to discuss and locate. Still have time." "We'll help you as much as we can from our end, too, so... Good luck." Well, you know the drill by now. Hello, everyone, and welcome to the third trial! We'll go over a few notes briefly as we will be playing this trial a bit differently than other games. While there was a mini-investigation on Friday, today is the day participants can really dive in to investigate areas in the game setting, check over the body and review evidence that they find! Please see the toplevels in this post for more information. To help with the ease of the trial and for IC mechanics, only one location may be visited at a time. One of your NPCs will also be accompanying you on these visits. Most importantly, before the trial is over, please place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously. Please also be sure to read the voting page carefully. |

He stares. It's a staring contest with two eyes versus one. His eyes water in record time as Zenitsu doffs his outermost layers of clothing.]
All right, all right! I'll go. I'm going!
[He sets his socks and tabi aside, then dips a single foot in with a squeaky gasp. Once he's descended enough to tread water, he shoots Akira a frantic look. Is he trembling uncontrollably, because it's cold or because he's afraid? (It's the latter.)]

as he enters the water, he'll find that the surface begins to ripple as a large tentacle covered in eyes breaches the water, an object wrapped up at the end. it blinks its eyes at zenitsu briefly before a gun is tossed directly at him.

and then the tentacle disappears back into the water. you're welcome!]

[The gun clocks him on the back of the head, bounces miraculously overhead, and lands on the shore by Akira. Zenitsu, meanwhile, slams facefirst onto the dirt and lies prone with his lower half still submerged in the water.]

[in fact as soon as Zenitsu is clocked on the head he is going to. scoop up the gun and then run over to Zenitsu's side, reaching out with one hand (and. . . missing the first time) to touch his shoulder]

[He exits the lake with a loud gasp, releases Akira, and crawls unevenly to his discarded clothes and footwear.]

[once that is done! he takes a look at the gun. anything immediately abnormal about it? he's going to look at the barrel for signs of gunpowder to see if it's been fired at all recently, and then also open the chamber to see how much ammunition is in there]

The marks kept going to the cabins, but we ought to report back with what we found. Hikage had a gun - so I wouldn't be surprised if that was his.

[Akira stands, wobbling a bit on his feet as he almost bumps into Zenitsu thanks to NO DEPTH PERCEPTION but he catches himself at the last minute]
Yeah. We'll make sure the next group checks out the residential cabins.
I can't tell if the gun was fired recently because it was submerged in the lake, but there's no ammo left.

[about zenitsu's bump - her free hand will reach out to steady akira just in case, because she's like. been there. with the eye injury thing. she sort of saw it coming. boys are stupid and lili has two hands to smack around both of them.]
I don't remember how much he had in it... Maybe Steph and Belph do. But if there was something in the bonfire, it makes sense that it'll be in the area of the cabins.
