WEEK TWO: TRIAL
TRIAL | |

Rise and shine, Camp Gatonina. With yesterday's announcement weighting on your mind, you are left to your own devices for the entirety of the morning. The 7:00 AM bugle call will announce breakfast as usual, and those who still manage to retain an appetite under the current circumstances are free to make their way over to the mess hall in order to grab a bite. It is not until 12:00 PM that something changes. Coming as a surprise to none, given your past experiences, your body will move of its own accord towards the Mess Hall. You are powerless to resist. The Mess Hall doors will lock once everyone is inside, and for some reason — your vision will momentarily blur before everything snaps back into focus. Winter Wizard, Purple Heart and Black Shadows will be seated at a table by the enclosed bulletin board. Their bunnies will be beside them, dressed impeccably. They share a look, visibly uncomfortable, before they rise from their seats. "So it seems one of your own has been killed. Now's the time to work together and find the responsible party." "Nine hours remain to discuss and locate. Still have time." "We'll help you as much as we can from our end, too, so... Good luck." Well, you know the drill by now. Hello, everyone, and welcome to the third trial! We'll go over a few notes briefly as we will be playing this trial a bit differently than other games. While there was a mini-investigation on Friday, today is the day participants can really dive in to investigate areas in the game setting, check over the body and review evidence that they find! Please see the toplevels in this post for more information. To help with the ease of the trial and for IC mechanics, only one location may be visited at a time. One of your NPCs will also be accompanying you on these visits. Most importantly, before the trial is over, please place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously. Please also be sure to read the voting page carefully. |
STATE OF THE BODY i'm sorry for all the gore
Hikage's cause of death was most likely the puncture wound on his stomach. It didn't go all the way through, but it was deep enough to touch his organs. Some of them looked like they'd been... pushed around. It looks like he was stabbed downward, but when whatever was used was removed it rearranged the scenery. [ word it another way, dick. anyway-- ] He also had three or four scratches on his collarbone, parallel to each other. There's a bit of a curve to them, but I can't tell if they were made by a weapon or claws without being able to compare them to something. They were deep and bled heavily, yet there's no bruising around them. Or anywhere on Hikage's person outside of his obvious wounds.
[ speaking of which... ]
He was also missing his right eye. The eyeball is completely gone-- and they weren't exactly clean about it. The eye socket was wider than normal and damaged, so it looks like they... poked and ripped it out. [ sorry steph. ] Those three are the only wounds I found on him. If there was a struggle, it was quick.
He had his ring on his person [ which he will. hand over to steph if she's close by ], as well as a pink kazoo and ocarina, and... this.
[ he'll show off the Medium Sized Bloody Rock ]
It was in his pocket. Before anyone looks at Guy, it's a new rock than the ones we've seen before. It's completely coated in blood, and there were also some flecks of innards on it. Which would imply they shoved it inside of him ... only to take it out.
[ which is weird. it's weird. it's a weird and gross conclusion. ]
Lastly-- he had a gun as an item according to his boarding pass, but it was nowhere on his person at all. That's it.

belph looks sick for a moment because wow. great. love to hear that happened to hikage! but he covers it up and moves on.]
I don't know if it's relevant, but Hikage's right eye was—weird? It glowed sometimes. Don't ask me why.

It might be. Did anyone else but you and Steph know about that?

We could - I suppose it would not hurt to check our hands, would it...? Under the nails, perhaps? Just in case it was... nails or claws of some kind.

What kind of weapon could cause that, even... like. The only thing I can think of is maybe one of those gardening... things? [ like a rake or something idfk ]

Um... Could they have been looking for the rock to remove it? [ just... rummaging a hand up in there to grab the rock and take it out. ] There must be a reason it was left behind so deliberately as well, either to throw us off or to leave some sort of message.
