Rise and shine, Camp Gatonina.

With yesterday's announcement weighting on your mind, you are left to your own devices for the entirety of the morning. The 7:00 AM bugle call will announce breakfast as usual, and those who still manage to retain an appetite under the current circumstances are free to make their way over to the mess hall in order to grab a bite.

It is not until 12:00 PM that something changes. Coming as a surprise to none, given your past experiences, your body will move of its own accord towards the Mess Hall. You are powerless to resist. The Mess Hall doors will lock once everyone is inside, and for some reason — your vision will momentarily blur before everything snaps back into focus.

Winter Wizard, Purple Heart and Black Shadows will be seated at a table by the enclosed bulletin board. Their bunnies will be beside them, dressed impeccably. They share a look, visibly uncomfortable, before they rise from their seats.

"So it seems one of your own has been killed. Now's the time to work together and find the responsible party."

"Nine hours remain to discuss and locate. Still have time."

"We'll help you as much as we can from our end, too, so... Good luck."

Well, you know the drill by now.

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the third trial!

We'll go over a few notes briefly as we will be playing this trial a bit differently than other games.

While there was a mini-investigation on Friday, today is the day participants can really dive in to investigate areas in the game setting, check over the body and review evidence that they find! Please see the toplevels in this post for more information. To help with the ease of the trial and for IC mechanics, only one location may be visited at a time. One of your NPCs will also be accompanying you on these visits.

Most importantly, before the trial is over, please place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously. Please also be sure to read the voting page carefully.

Maybe there was something incriminating on the bark.
concasse: (huff↠ god you're exhausting)

[personal profile] concasse 2020-06-27 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that. Maybe.
slobjection: (so here's some free advice)

[personal profile] slobjection 2020-06-27 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Our killer seems to have to some pretty extensive lengths to make sure blood or footprints wasn't left at the crime scene.
concasse: (neutral↠ lemme explain a thing)

[personal profile] concasse 2020-06-27 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly.

But it's not exactly easy cleaning a crime scene that thoroughly, which is why it's a sticking point to me.
slobjection: (Twenty years old)

[personal profile] slobjection 2020-06-27 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
The killer seems to know what they're doing.
okitactless: (hmmmm)

[personal profile] okitactless 2020-06-27 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[Nodding...]

If it's an ability to erase evidence, or something like that, it might not have taken much effort at all.

[Though, who really knows... there's so many options for powers, god]
slobjection: (quickest way to ruin your life)

[personal profile] slobjection 2020-06-27 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Shame we don't have any tangible way of knowing what each ability does.

[personal profile] survivaltricks 2020-06-27 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
. . . that's possible, though I don't know what it'd be. The potentially-a-sled marks steered clear of most of the marked up trees except for one.
slobjection: (pretty smart kid)

[personal profile] slobjection 2020-06-27 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
My guess is that the sled was more used for body transportation after the dead was done than any altercations.

[personal profile] survivaltricks 2020-06-27 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
That's my guess, too.

[nodnods!!]

Though I don't know why the killer would have to transport the body in the first place.
fishingforcompliments: (022)

[personal profile] fishingforcompliments 2020-06-27 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
...perhaps they were not strong enough to carry him in their arms?
survivaltricks: (Default)

[personal profile] survivaltricks 2020-06-27 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah-- yeah, maybe. But what I mean is. . .

Why move the body at all? Why not just leave Hikage where he died?
axilium: (the plot thickens)

[personal profile] axilium 2020-06-27 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Because wherever he potentially fought them and died is incriminating in some way, maybe.
fishingforcompliments: (014)

[personal profile] fishingforcompliments 2020-06-27 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
...or maybe they did not want a repeat of the bear.
axilium: (ARE YOU SURE)

[personal profile] axilium 2020-06-27 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
They took out his eye and gouged a hole into his guts. I'm not inclined to think leaving the corpse in a nice state was a priority.

[personal profile] fishingforcompliments 2020-06-27 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Whatever the reason was for it, it appears to have happened.

[she frowns, not liking the fact that she has no hecking clue what the reason would be]
survivaltricks: (pic#13006479)

[personal profile] survivaltricks 2020-06-27 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
[shakes his head]

But it's not like we find where the body itself was during the investigation, right? The director's always get it for us-- uh. Except in the case of bears.

So it doesn't make any sense to move it at all.
slobjection: (your only expertise)

[personal profile] slobjection 2020-06-27 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
He wasn't exactly a small guy.
