Rise and shine, Camp Gatonina. With yesterday's announcement weighting on your mind, you are left to your own devices for the entirety of the morning. The 7:00 AM bugle call will announce breakfast as usual, and those who still manage to retain an appetite under the current circumstances are free to make their way over to the mess hall in order to grab a bite. It is not until 12:00 PM that something changes. Coming as a surprise to none, given your past experiences, your body will move of its own accord towards the Mess Hall. You are powerless to resist. The Mess Hall doors will lock once everyone is inside, and for some reason — your vision will momentarily blur before everything snaps back into focus. Winter Wizard, Purple Heart and Black Shadows will be seated at a table by the enclosed bulletin board. Their bunnies will be beside them, dressed impeccably. They share a look, visibly uncomfortable, before they rise from their seats. "So it seems one of your own has been killed. Now's the time to work together and find the responsible party." "Nine hours remain to discuss and locate. Still have time." "We'll help you as much as we can from our end, too, so... Good luck." Well, you know the drill by now. Hello, everyone, and welcome to the third trial! We'll go over a few notes briefly as we will be playing this trial a bit differently than other games. While there was a mini-investigation on Friday, today is the day participants can really dive in to investigate areas in the game setting, check over the body and review evidence that they find! Please see the toplevels in this post for more information. To help with the ease of the trial and for IC mechanics, only one location may be visited at a time. One of your NPCs will also be accompanying you on these visits. Most importantly, before the trial is over, please place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously. Please also be sure to read the voting page carefully. |

he sighs.]
Nah, I'm not offended. As much as I'd like to think he'd behave... that wouldn't be incredibly out of character for him.

[But he's relieved.]
But, y'know. If you don't think he'd stay up to stop a killer for altruistic reasons, maybe the plan instead was to kill a killer?
Do you have an idea how seriously he was taking the rules of the game?
no subject
... Full honesty? If it came down to it, I bet he would've killed to win. He had a little sister he was worried about.
But he didn't want to rub shoulders with me or Steph if he didn't have to, and he was also the kind of person who liked to play the long con. Meaning, he also wasn't the type who'd immediately start shooting, when he knew he could be executed for it.
So... it's hard to say.

[he shrugs.]
All I know is that if he had any plans to kill, he never suggested it. There's some other stuff, but I don't think I can say without breaking a rule.

. . . I see. Well, if he was trying to protect you two, he might not have said anything anything.

. . . Why'd you stay with him this time?

But even that aside—no. It's not out of the question, but... right now, I have more reason to believe he wouldn't have been that hasty than the other way around, even if I can't really explain why without breaking the rules. [a beat.] But if I'm wrong, then hey, someone on the other side, punch him when he gets there.

[Don't worry Belph he won't make you break the rules.]

Still worth keeping in mind, since I can't argue that he wouldn't have an above average chance of being a murderer. I just wouldn't lean too hard into that theory just yet.

Actually, another thought: could he only use his power on himself, or could he use it on other people if he wanted to?
