WEEK THREE: MINGLE

Rise and shine, everyone! At 7:00 AM on the dot, those who are asleep will be roused from their slumber by the sound of a bugle call. It seems that breakfast is now served in the Mess Hall. How nice! It's up to you to decide if you want to continue sleeping or not... But maybe it's a good idea to grab a bite and explore your surroundings. After all, it seems the fog has receded enough to reveal a few new locations. Regardless of what you do, be sure to check the weather before stepping outside. You never know when you might need an umbrella! Once you're up and at them, though, there are a few points of interest this week. If you swing by the Director's Office, you will find Black Shadows manning the receptionist's desk or flitting in and out of the rooms down the hallway. This week's tasks are now available, and you can check them out on the announcement board in the waiting room. Should you visit the Camp Shop, Purple Heart will be handling all transactions at the checkout counter. Even camp directors hold down normal jobs, you know. Strangely enough, Winter Wizard doesn't seem to be stationed at any set location. Maybe it's their week off? Oh, well. Seems like if you want to get ahold of them, you'll have to pay your respects to the bunnies. As you explore the camp, however... You may find yourself confronted by scenes from a not so distant past. Or, perhaps, the so-called-movies playing on the big screen are completely foreign to you. But that's not all you will have to deal with this week. Continue skimming the edges of the forest, and you will find yourself going down memory lane. Literally. Speaking of walking down memory lane, it seems the theater and the portal aren't the only places to relive some fond memories... or revisit ones that are better left in the past. Yes, it's memshare week. It doesn't matter if you cover yourself up from head to toe, or pirouette away from anyone who might make physical contact with you. Simple proximity OR eye contact is enough to get the ball rolling. As soon as this simple condition is met, you will find yourself reliving the other party's memories from their point of view. These memories can either be canon memories, or memories from the game they were previously in. Regardless of what the case may be, this effect will last until Week 4 officially begins. Have fun, everyone! |

[Perhaps you're having trouble sleeping, had to do a midnight bathroom run, or are just out looking at the stars, but on any given night this week, Threepio can be spotted wandering the paths, head scanning back and forth methodically as he does. If he runs into you, he'll explain himself:]
Oh, I do hope I didn't wake you. Having fully charged my power reserves, I thought it may be helpful were I to keep an eye on things while everyone was resting. Given everything that's happened and all.
[laundry]
[Threepio has come to realize that, well, not everyone here is exactly "technologically literate" and so while the machines here are horribly primitive, he's grasped how they work without issue and is here to help! Anyone he spies carrying an armful of laundry, trying to work the machines, or wearing obviously dirty clothes will receive a chipper offer of laundry guidance. He can even tell you what those mysterious symbols on the tag mean!]
[task 2]
[You'd think that Threepio—with his delicate shuffling gait that seems like he could fall over at any given moment—would have trouble walking through snow and icy surfaces, and you'd be completely right. At some point Thursday, as Threepio makes his Helpful Rounds, his metal feet will cross a hidden patch of ice and he'll just...absolutely eat shit. Straight to the ground with an "Oh!" and a crash. He might need some help getting up and to wherever he's going.]
[random access memshare]
[Given his dual love of eye contact and being too close to people, accidentally triggering this week's effect with Goldenrod is all but guaranteed with any slight interaction—although those that do encounter him might find that droid memories work somewhat differently...]
[wildcard]
[I'm back to a normal workload and eager to start up new stuff! So feel free to throw anything at me this week! ikiguy#4890 at the disco~]
task 2
Hey, bud! Need a helping hand?

Where're we going?
no subject
Oh dear, that was quite unexpected. Thank you, sir.
I suppose I should return to the cabin in order to run some diagnostics in case my systems sustained any damage from the fall. I hope that's not too much trouble?
no subject
[So. Not totally polite and kind but yes he actually will princess carry him back to his cabin.]

[Threepio's earnest expressions of gratitude fade away as Magnus's vision gives way to...something else. Before him is a scene of a vast desert, although the harsh oranges and blues are rendered in shifting matrices of dots. All along the edges are long chains of ever-changing numbers, coordinates, positioning, readings of the surrounding environment.
Labels pop up on objects as the vision scans the horizon before it passes over an enormous, angular vehicle parked nearby. It says "Jawa Sandcrawler." Then the vision looks down to the owner's arms, which are carrying a small body, bundled in dark brown robes. The label says "Jawa: Deceased."
Shuffling footsteps move forward until the vision is looking down at a pile of similarly small bodies, which have been set ablaze and are burning among the desert sands. The arms release the body they're carrying into the pile before turning away. An old, tired voice says "May they rejoin the Force."]
no subject
No, I'm just kidding. He does, and he's startled by it! He stops running for a minute, processing that.]
Uh. Whoa. What happened there?
no subject
[suddenly worried that Magnus was somehow able to witness the memory even despite threepio's lack of holoprojector]
I do hope I wasn't saying or doing anything strange while it happened.
nighttime!
[well, she is a little startled, but. it's fine, probably.]
No, you did not wake me. I was out for a walk already. [...] Would you like some company on your patrol?
no subject
If you are otherwise unoccupied, I was just on my way to the lake.
no subject
[she bows back! onward to the lake.]
Have you been doing this every night since we arrived, C-3PO?
no subject
Only recently, Miss Flayn. I'm afraid it took some time to restore my systems to full power after a few harrowing weeks, but now I should be able to operate continuously even throughout the night.
I...wished to do something to try and prevent more needless suffering. Although I must confess I feel quite powerless in what I am able to do. I don't even have access to non-visible light ranges anymore.
no subject
...that must be frustrating.
[poor c-3po. feeling powerless is awful - and honestly? she can relate.]
Well... if you would like company on these patrols, please do let me know. I... tend to have some trouble falling asleep, so I would be glad to accompany you.

[...]
But I get enough rest when I need it, so please do not worry.
no subject
Well, should there be any way I can be of assistance, please do let me know. There are a number of different strategies for easier sleep that I learned while in service to Princess Leia. She also sleeps far less than she ought to.
[his polite chiding wraps up as they approach the lake, and he silently scans his vision across it before turning back to Flayn]
There doesn't seem to be anyone out here tonight. Perhaps this week's weather has had something to do with it. Have you noticed any unknown visitors or other strange happenings, Miss Flayn?

nighttime
After Threepio's helpful explanation, all Zenitsu can do is file a complaint.]
You scared me!
no subject
no subject
I'm not out here to see Asch! Don't even joke about that, all right?
no subject
Understood, sir. It is quite late, though. Are you unable to sleep?
no subject
It's not important. You don't have to tell anyone that you saw me out here. And don't talk about me and Asch anymore!
no subject
Oh, I can certainly respect your wish to maintain privacy around personal matters.
In any case, shall I accompany you, sir? I don't think it's safe to be out alone, and you wouldn't wish to arouse suspicion regarding your behavior. [given how the past two trials have gone.....] Not that I'll say anything.
no subject
No, that's really not it . . .
[The implications of that statement are troubling.]
If you see anything suspicious, you should speak up!
no subject
[should Zenitsu be making any attempts to move away, Threepio will helpfully follow along out of concern and also love of idle chatter]
