POPULATION: 23 Good morning, Camp Gatonina. The weather could be better, but at least it isn't trying to murder you this week. Overcast skies as far as the eye can see. No real need to seek shelter of any kind. How lucky. At 9AM, two hours after the bugle call for breakfast, you will be drawn to the bonfire. Your body will move of its own volition, giving you little to no time to pick up any sort of protection. As you approach the bonfire, you will find that you are not the only one. The Camp Directors and Ookurikara seem to be marching to the same rhythm as the rest of you, their movements stiff as they approach from the direction of the Isolation Cabin. Once everyone has gathered in the same location, you will hear a voice that is recognized by none. "... That was so boring. You're bringing me to tears. Tears! Terrible. Not even a tie to make it worth my time. I could really go for a nap right now. Ookurikara, get your badonkadonk in motion before I fall asleep. . . for realsies. . . . . . . ." Ookurikara will be forced to approach the fire, as everyone else takes several steps back to form something of an impromptu fighting ring around the bonfire. "Who else? Dick Grayson...? Heh, why not? Battle of the boy toys, boom!" Similarly to Ookurikara, Dick will be forced to approach the fire. Those in the audience will find themselves rooted to the spot, and the participants of the execution will hit an invisible barrier three feet away from the rest of the group if they try to escape. In his dominant hand, Dick will find a 20-sided dice... though five of the sides are now blank. You're all old pros at this. It goes without saying that it's time for the execution to begin.

[god. she doesn't deserve this. she doesn't— she doesn't]

[he wishes he were closer to her so he could reach for her hand and grasp it tightly, giving her a lifeline throughout the horror she has to watch. but he isn't, and that's a little painful in and of itself. still. . . he can't just stand here and do nothing]

[it's so hard to hear over everything.

but she tears her eyes away briefly - and there's not really much hiding the pain, the fear, the uncertainty that seem to win over her fury for just this second.

her throat is too tight for her to speak but he gets her attention.]

[after their conversation the night before. . . he knows what he is about to say will only be a small comfort. but small comforts are needed at times like this, right?]

[a deep breath—]

No matter what happens, we're going to win. . .!

[she isn't losing anyone. no matter what happens. . . they will both come back]

[ . . . . it feels so long since the first time they declared they were going to tear this place apart during an execution and even now she thinks that any second she's not watching kara is a disgrace, when he could be taken from her any moment

but the words tear out of her mouth immediately]

Of course we are!!

[even if she's torn up and beaten down - she won't let go of that one singular fact.]

[there we go. and even now, he feels that familiar anger surge to life within him, boiling in his gut, flashing into his one good eye like fire]

We will tear this place down, and salt and burn the earth is stands on! Nothing is going to remain when we're done with it!

[they'll use their rage, sorrow, misery and fear as fuel to keep them going. to propel them into a victory they deserve]

[she can keep going. she has to keep going. so many words that people offer to her are empty, and so many that she can say now would be similarly so. there is no easing their suffering. their fear. their loss.

but she can hold onto anger - she promises kara that she would hold onto her anger, no matter whaat. and she won't break.

even if it's only for him.]

[acknowledging, agreeing - all this place deserves is flames.]

[he knows there are no words that could reach the depths of the sorrow and agony she's feeling now. but if he can remind her to hold onto that anger, then. . .]

[it's better than watching her suffer. right. . .?]

[and it's good to see the fight still burning deeply in her heart. comforting to know that no matter what, she'll still be there with the rest of them, ready to render this entire camp to ashes]

[and so he tilts his head up, jaw set, and gives her a firm nod. they still have a fight to watch, but. . . at least afterwards, they have a path forward]
