Good morning, Camp Gatonina. The weather could be better, but at least it isn't trying to murder you this week. Overcast skies as far as the eye can see. No real need to seek shelter of any kind. How lucky. At 9AM, two hours after the bugle call for breakfast, you will be drawn to the bonfire. Your body will move of its own volition, giving you little to no time to pick up any sort of protection. As you approach the bonfire, you will find that you are not the only one. The Camp Directors and Ookurikara seem to be marching to the same rhythm as the rest of you, their movements stiff as they approach from the direction of the Isolation Cabin. Once everyone has gathered in the same location, you will hear a voice that is recognized by none. "... That was so boring. You're bringing me to tears. Tears! Terrible. Not even a tie to make it worth my time. I could really go for a nap right now. Ookurikara, get your badonkadonk in motion before I fall asleep. . . for realsies. . . . . . . ." Ookurikara will be forced to approach the fire, as everyone else takes several steps back to form something of an impromptu fighting ring around the bonfire. "Who else? Dick Grayson...? Heh, why not? Battle of the boy toys, boom!" Similarly to Ookurikara, Dick will be forced to approach the fire. Those in the audience will find themselves rooted to the spot, and the participants of the execution will hit an invisible barrier three feet away from the rest of the group if they try to escape. In his dominant hand, Dick will find a 20-sided dice... though five of the sides are now blank. You're all old pros at this. It goes without saying that it's time for the execution to begin. |
EXECUTION

Dick's never wanted to die. He knows Ookurikara doesn't, either, for Lili's sake if nothing else. He doesn't know what's crueler. Lying down and accepting it despite the people who told him no yesterday, or fighting for his life against someone who hadn't even volunteered.
His tablet's gone. All items vanished makes sense, but it means he has no way to communicate with Ookurikara. It's for the best, maybe. He's not sure what he'd say. Sorry doesn't encompass the depth of what he's feeling right now. He signs it, anyway.
Before rolling-- he wants to see what Ookurikara says. What he's willing to do. ]

and yet when dick is the one chosen to face off against ookurikara, she finds herself still nearly knocked off her feet. she doesn't want anyone to be here. she doesn't know anyone who she'd prefer to stand against him, not this late, not when everyone has people dear to them.
so maybe that's why she can't stand it and finds herself yelling - ]
If you don't want to die, then fight!!
[to do anything less is a disgrace to everyone who loves you.
and some things are that simple, she thinks. even if she has an obvious bias - everyone else has different ways for their heart to beat. and break.]

[Akira stands in the ring with his crutches pulled to his side, his injured leg slightly lifted and his wounds stinging with the dull pain that has persisted throughout the week. for some reason. . . everything he's carrying with him feels so, so much heavier than it ever has before]
[he schools his expression. doesn't let his frustration and anger appear on his features as Dick is escorted into the ring. another weekend, another bloodbath, another instance of two innocent people being forced to fight to the death for no good reason except some stupid pink things entertainment]
[. . . he'll watch, though. as much as he doesn't want to. he's never looked away before-- he won't start now]

flayn has known that much since ookurikara's name was called at the end of the trial, the night before. it's only confirmed when dick's name is called, now. someone will suffer, no matter how this ends. multiple someones.
there isn't anything that can be done to stop it, not now, so although flayn is trembling, she raises her eyes to watch. as ever, she won't look away from the execution.]

What the hell? [it's louder, probably, than most people have heard from them and they don't exactly plan to stay quiet. but there's another, equally aggressive kick similar to the way they reacted when winter was in the ring.]
...you have to come back. Fight back.

it never has, really. it's just another way to watch people who don't want to be here engage in a mockery of a final duel.
so she watches this one the same way she's watched all the other ones: impassively, with nothing showing on her face. ]

IT'S ABSOLUTELY FRIDAY AFTERNOON (NO IT'S SUNDAY): A THING
If you can walk, then haul your ass to Nurse's Office! I'm robbing Black Shadows blind and you're all invited!
[Should campers choose to do as instructed, they will find that the directors have pushed the two beds in the Nurse's Office together. Black Shadows sits on one of the beds, Purple Heart next to them. Winter Wizard will plop down next to Heart once they arrive, dropping the chickens on the ground. The rubber chicken squeak sadly as they bounce off the floor and roll off under the beds.
Winter will wait for a bit as campers arrive, but once everyone (or mostly everyone) is here... they will glance around the crowd and hold their hand out to one camper in particular.]
Um. Prenup. Please? [A beat, and a little apologetic:] We're not in a "kiss the bride" mood right now. Sorry.
