Rise and shine, Camp Gatonina. With yesterday's announcement weighting on your mind, you are left to your own devices for the entirety of the morning. The 7:00 AM bugle call will announce breakfast as usual, and those who still manage to retain an appetite under the current circumstances are free to make their way over to the mess hall in order to grab a bite. It is not until 12:00 PM that something changes. Coming as a surprise to none, given your past experiences, your body will move of its own accord towards the Mess Hall. You are powerless to resist. The Mess Hall doors will lock once everyone is inside, and for some reason — your vision will momentarily blur before everything snaps back into focus. Winter Wizard, Purple Heart and Black Shadows will be seated at a table by the enclosed bulletin board. Their bunnies will be beside them, dressed impeccably. They share a look, visibly uncomfortable, before they rise from their seats. "So it seems one of your own has been killed. Now's the time to work together and find the responsible party." "Nine hours remain to discuss and locate. Still have time." "We'll help you as much as we can from our end, too, so... Good luck." Well, you know the drill by now. Hello, everyone, and welcome to the third trial! We'll go over a few notes briefly as we will be playing this trial a bit differently than other games. While there was a mini-investigation on Friday, today is the day participants can really dive in to investigate areas in the game setting, check over the body and review evidence that they find! Please see the toplevels in this post for more information. To help with the ease of the trial and for IC mechanics, only one location may be visited at a time. One of your NPCs will also be accompanying you on these visits. Most importantly, before the trial is over, please place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously. Please also be sure to read the voting page carefully. |

That doesn't really help us, though.

[and boy is it]

[he looks like he's torn between staying quiet and saying something else, but. in the end he stays quiet, gaze flickering away]

... Akira.
If it's not safe to say, ask the directors first - otherwise I want to hear it.
no subject
And I don't want to convict someone innocent again.

[Just speaking up quietly.]
I'm not saying you gotta spill your guts now or at all, but right now we're on track to throwing names out randomly.

Guy's story doesn't make sense to me. The path to the cabins might've been shorter cutting through the forest, but. . . navigating through all that brush would've been even harder than taking the long way around.
His boots are covered in lake sand and forest debris, too. I don't think it's that incriminating when he said he stayed by the lake and cut through the forest, but. . .
[it's all he has]

It doesn't make sense.

no subject
[that's actually a good reason for him deciding to take the forest!!]
And he did tell me he tried to use the trees for balance.

Speculate then. We're not... we're not out of time yet - but we need a lead. And if you're wrong, I told you that you don't have to shoulder it alone.
Walk me through it, even if you don't name any names.

[he hates this. it's obvious in his gaze, in the uncertain way his features wrinkle]
[but he lays it out]
no subject
she's just going to frown at that, before holding her hand out to him, palm up]
Don't falter yet. We're still going to keep looking. But... you're not alone in this, moron.
no subject
For what it's worth, he's not on that team. That's another reason I'm not so sure.

Team doesn't tell us person - so we need a person.
We have to keep moving forward - fingerprint the can, determine who it might have belonged to, eliminate from there.
