Rise and shine, Camp Gatonina. With yesterday's announcement weighting on your mind, you are left to your own devices for the entirety of the morning. The 7:00 AM bugle call will announce breakfast as usual, and those who still manage to retain an appetite under the current circumstances are free to make their way over to the mess hall in order to grab a bite. It is not until 12:00 PM that something changes. Coming as a surprise to none, given your past experiences, your body will move of its own accord towards the Mess Hall. You are powerless to resist. The Mess Hall doors will lock once everyone is inside, and for some reason — your vision will momentarily blur before everything snaps back into focus. Winter Wizard, Purple Heart and Black Shadows will be seated at a table by the enclosed bulletin board. Their bunnies will be beside them, dressed impeccably. They share a look, visibly uncomfortable, before they rise from their seats. "So it seems one of your own has been killed. Now's the time to work together and find the responsible party." "Nine hours remain to discuss and locate. Still have time." "We'll help you as much as we can from our end, too, so... Good luck." Well, you know the drill by now. Hello, everyone, and welcome to the third trial! We'll go over a few notes briefly as we will be playing this trial a bit differently than other games. While there was a mini-investigation on Friday, today is the day participants can really dive in to investigate areas in the game setting, check over the body and review evidence that they find! Please see the toplevels in this post for more information. To help with the ease of the trial and for IC mechanics, only one location may be visited at a time. One of your NPCs will also be accompanying you on these visits. Most importantly, before the trial is over, please place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously. Please also be sure to read the voting page carefully. |

Did you two find anything?
no subject
It seems like a couple of trees don't have their bark. That wasn't like this before, right?
no subject
I don't see anything up in the trees.
no subject
lili, meanwhile, will find that there isn't much of a pattern for how the trees were stripped! chunks were just taken starting from the bottom up, but it's not anything taller than herself. it seems to be mostly focused on the bottom half of these trees.]

[to Lili]
I don't know for sure, but I don't think so? I didn't notice anything like it when we were camping out last week.
[holds up his hand, fingers spread out, to Zenitsu and Lili to show them how wide the marks are]
The marks are about this big and perfectly parallel. I don't think a body was dragged this way unless it was on a sled.
[and then, to Zenitsu]
No glowsticks stuck in the branches?
no subject
A sled....? Did we see something from that last week?
[she's actually going to take a closer look to examine? is there any signs of anything being sharp used, or were they just yanked off? are there any dangly bits to indicate if the bark was yanked in a specific direction? are they super far from the marks on the ground, or do they line up?]
no subject
Should I climb up?
no subject
the lines seem to lead to this tree, however, in addition to the other lines leading toward the lake. zenitsu can climb and retrieve the dead glow stick if he wants.]
no subject
Yeah, go ahead. I'm gonna head to the lake, since that's where some of the lines lead.
[to Lili]
And I'm not sure, since I didn't investigate the forest last week. But I can ask. Are you coming?
[to the lake with Akira!!]
no subject
Yes.
[and she'll go to look at the lines as they walk. akira checked for width, but how far apart are the two lines? one hand's width? two?]
These might've been the marks that Flayn was talking about yesterday.
no subject
He holds the glow stick out to Akira.]
Here.
no subject
well? here you are. what now?]
no subject
[a hum! first thing he is going to do is examine the glowstick. anything off about it? like is it covered in blood or???]
[otherwise, he stops at the lake]
[. . .]
Sooooo who wants to go swimming?
no subject
We'll get you a towel when we're back. The shark should be gone at least.
[DOES SHE? SEEM? LIKE SHE'S GOING TO BE GOING INTO A LAKE?
but she'll try to be mindful of the marks as she goes - is there anything else off about them? flecks of BLOOD anywhere? does the shape stay consistent?]
no subject
He stares. It's a staring contest with two eyes versus one. His eyes water in record time as Zenitsu doffs his outermost layers of clothing.]
All right, all right! I'll go. I'm going!
[He sets his socks and tabi aside, then dips a single foot in with a squeaky gasp. Once he's descended enough to tread water, he shoots Akira a frantic look. Is he trembling uncontrollably, because it's cold or because he's afraid? (It's the latter.)]
What am I looking for!
no subject
...she probably won't get too far though because.
god. i feel so bad? why did you do this to poor zenitsu???
as he enters the water, he'll find that the surface begins to ripple as a large tentacle covered in eyes breaches the water, an object wrapped up at the end. it blinks its eyes at zenitsu briefly before a gun is tossed directly at him.
yeet.
and then the tentacle disappears back into the water. you're welcome!]
no subject
[before he can say anything]
[the tentacle rises from the lake]
[and chucks a gun at Zenitsu]
[and with a strangled noise Akira can only say one thing]
Yeet.
no subject
but she hears something rise from the water
and looks over in that direction
and watches zenitsu get thrown a gun
see icon
you know what? yea. this might as well happen]
Check if it's Hikage's!
no subject
Nooooo—ouch!
[The gun clocks him on the back of the head, bounces miraculously overhead, and lands on the shore by Akira. Zenitsu, meanwhile, slams facefirst onto the dirt and lies prone with his lower half still submerged in the water.]
no subject
no subject
[in fact as soon as Zenitsu is clocked on the head he is going to. scoop up the gun and then run over to Zenitsu's side, reaching out with one hand (and. . . missing the first time) to touch his shoulder]
Hey, Zenitsu! Are you okay?
no subject
which cabin does it lead to? the residential ones by the bonfire or like the fish shack place?
if she's not allowed to go further bc of investigation reasons she'll circle back but she at least wants to determine the trail]
no subject
G-g-g-gun . . . Ch-check the gun!
[He exits the lake with a loud gasp, releases Akira, and crawls unevenly to his discarded clothes and footwear.]
