WEEK TWO: TRIAL

Rise and shine, Camp Gatonina. With yesterday's announcement weighting on your mind, you are left to your own devices for the entirety of the morning. The 7:00 AM bugle call will announce breakfast as usual, and those who still manage to retain an appetite under the current circumstances are free to make their way over to the mess hall in order to grab a bite. It is not until 12:00 PM that something changes. Coming as a surprise to none, given your past experiences, your body will move of its own accord towards the Mess Hall. You are powerless to resist. The Mess Hall doors will lock once everyone is inside, and for some reason — your vision will momentarily blur before everything snaps back into focus. Winter Wizard, Purple Heart and Black Shadows will be seated at a table by the enclosed bulletin board. Their bunnies will be beside them, dressed impeccably. They share a look, visibly uncomfortable, before they rise from their seats. "So it seems one of your own has been killed. Now's the time to work together and find the responsible party." "Nine hours remain to discuss and locate. Still have time." "We'll help you as much as we can from our end, too, so... Good luck." Well, you know the drill by now. Hello, everyone, and welcome to the third trial! We'll go over a few notes briefly as we will be playing this trial a bit differently than other games. While there was a mini-investigation on Friday, today is the day participants can really dive in to investigate areas in the game setting, check over the body and review evidence that they find! Please see the toplevels in this post for more information. To help with the ease of the trial and for IC mechanics, only one location may be visited at a time. One of your NPCs will also be accompanying you on these visits. Most importantly, before the trial is over, please place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously. Please also be sure to read the voting page carefully. |

[like was it a weird hail mary or what]
I don't understand the trees either - or how this could be so clean, given the state of the body. [assuming that they got an update once they got back or if they just. looked at the table.]
no subject
Maybe someone tried to climb the trees?
no subject
It was all broken off rather cleanly, so I couldn't even tell which direction the bark was coming off in...
no subject
Did it look like someone was stripping the bark on purpose?
no subject
I don't get why it'd happen otherwise. I couldn't find any hints of anything on the trees either.

no subject
What makes you say that?
no subject
[ . . . . . she's going to wander off to the npcs]
Hold on. Let me make sure I don't get mauled for this.
no subject
[yeah okay]
Good plan.

So you think someone got an item with a similar use as yours and cleaned the bark off the trees?
no subject
But it's just an 'object', you know? Not a space. So I wonder if it'd apply...
no subject
[a pause]
I heard you ask about the sled, but. . . the one you guys got last week for Yu wasn't the kind with two runners on the bottom, was it?
no subject
It was flat, I believe, from when they pulled it into the hall. So it wouldn't fit what we're looking for.
It must be a different sled.
no subject
So either a different sled or not a sled at all.
[holds up his hand, fingers splayed]
We need to find something that, when dragged, could make marks about this wide.
no subject
[like, based on the trail?]
But it'd mean that the altercation started in the forest and then ended at the bonfire.

The doll I received last week can clean or soil one object - which is still pretty limited, admittedly, since we're talking about a lot of trees. But the chance of it does exist.
no subject
Where did you get that doll? I'm not asking for nosiness' sake, I mean more like... did you get it breaking into somewhere?
Because we had a lot of bastards this week that were snoopin' around. Maybe they found a useful item.
no subject
The doll is the round one received from putting together furniture. Our break in items are different -
[though. she seems to pause.] Yin Yu has them, though. We might have a need for one today.
I don't know what Tonbokiri's group found yesterday, but otherwise... I think we could possibly use the one that our group received. I'd be willing to volunteer it, and I think Flayn and Yin Yu would agree. However this is only once we retrieve all evidence.
no subject
I wouldn't want anyone wasting shit if it's not relevant, but yeah -- this is for after we've got everything gathered.
I'm only interested in the possibility of narrowing down our suspect list.
no subject
I understand. We can't have it so wildly misleading again.
no subject
It was just sitting there.
