WEEK THREE: MINGLE

Rise and shine, everyone! At 7:00 AM on the dot, those who are asleep will be roused from their slumber by the sound of a bugle call. It seems that breakfast is now served in the Mess Hall. How nice! It's up to you to decide if you want to continue sleeping or not... But maybe it's a good idea to grab a bite and explore your surroundings. After all, it seems the fog has receded enough to reveal a few new locations. Regardless of what you do, be sure to check the weather before stepping outside. You never know when you might need an umbrella! Once you're up and at them, though, there are a few points of interest this week. If you swing by the Director's Office, you will find Black Shadows manning the receptionist's desk or flitting in and out of the rooms down the hallway. This week's tasks are now available, and you can check them out on the announcement board in the waiting room. Should you visit the Camp Shop, Purple Heart will be handling all transactions at the checkout counter. Even camp directors hold down normal jobs, you know. Strangely enough, Winter Wizard doesn't seem to be stationed at any set location. Maybe it's their week off? Oh, well. Seems like if you want to get ahold of them, you'll have to pay your respects to the bunnies. As you explore the camp, however... You may find yourself confronted by scenes from a not so distant past. Or, perhaps, the so-called-movies playing on the big screen are completely foreign to you. But that's not all you will have to deal with this week. Continue skimming the edges of the forest, and you will find yourself going down memory lane. Literally. Speaking of walking down memory lane, it seems the theater and the portal aren't the only places to relive some fond memories... or revisit ones that are better left in the past. Yes, it's memshare week. It doesn't matter if you cover yourself up from head to toe, or pirouette away from anyone who might make physical contact with you. Simple proximity OR eye contact is enough to get the ball rolling. As soon as this simple condition is met, you will find yourself reliving the other party's memories from their point of view. These memories can either be canon memories, or memories from the game they were previously in. Regardless of what the case may be, this effect will last until Week 4 officially begins. Have fun, everyone! |
steph & dimitri!
I'm sorry about this, Stephanie. I honestly have no idea how this happened.
[ the vineyard is... nice? at least? there's three shallowly filled wine glasses for them to start. ]
no subject
[ she looks at the guide and. hm. what is this. ]
I have no idea what this says. We may need to wing it.
[ how hard can wine tasting be, right?? ]
no subject
Neither can I. Maybe we are just to... [ he wags his whiteboard a little ] play this game and rank the wines we're given?
[ that doesn't sound too bad. there's not much wine in each glass, though who's to say how many glasses there are? hm. ]
It'd be a nice opportunity to get to know each other, at least. [ as friends, platonically ]
no subject
she picks through the picnic basket. ]
Ohhh, cheese. [ it goes with wine. ] Alright, let's start. It could be fun!
no subject
All right, so... What will your [ LONG PAUSE ] husband say that he loves about you the most?
[ his words grow slower and less certain as he goes. by the time he's done, he takes a sip of wine for strength. ]
I'm supposed to write my answer down, right? This might be a challenge... [ they don't know each other??? ]
no subject
[ they may be here for a while, but it could be worse? other people got bees. they don't know about the bees though, but steph is certain others are suffering.
she'll also drink some wine, since she mentioned it. ]
Huh. Not what I was expecting.
no subject
Me neither. But we only need to get a few of these correct, don't we? It can't be that bad.
[ if he understands the rules of this correctly... ]
What do you suppose it is I— [ he gently revises the question ] like, then?
no subject
she eats a cheese square. ]
My sunny outlook?
no subject
I wrote that you look—athletic?
[ he admits it a little helplessly. was that shallow of him? oh no. ]
Um... why don't you try one?
no subject
[ she does not seem to mind.
but she'll move onto a question. ]
Okay, let's see... Which one of you is the most organized?
[ she looks at dimitri. she looks at the question. she looks at dimitri.
she writes down an answer. ]
no subject
Oh! I believe that would be you. I do not really own enough to be particularly organized or messy.
[ stephanie seems quite put together, meanwhile! she knows about flirting and modern day party games. ]
no subject
... well, maybe third time is the charm!
[ she's just going to try a different wine now. ]
no subject
Mmhm. There are plenty of questions left.
[ next one is... ]
What is your husband’s idea of the perfect weekend?
[ maybe there's a reason married couples play this game, and not two effective strangers. ]
no subject
Um... sparring?
[ SHE'S GUESSING WILDLY BASED ON THEIR LAST CONVERSATION ]
no subject
alas. ]
No, but I would like that as well. I wrote horseback riding with tea served afterward.
[ but they're getting closer, and that is what counts :) there is also more wine being served, now. why are there so many wine varieties? do they have to taste them all? ]
no subject
[ she still has no idea if they are supposed to finish a glass before moving onto the next one? she will drink the rest of the current one, just in case, to be a proper wine taster. ]
Alright. When it comes to shoes, would you say your wife prefers heels, flats, sandals, or sneakers?
[ does he. know what some of these terms mean. ]
no subject
Ah...
[ he does not, so he just goes with whatever sounds the most exotic. ]
Sneakers?
no subject
Sneakers!
[ THEY DID IT THEY GOT A POINT HELL FUCKING YEAH
steph takes another long sip as a celebration. ]
no subject
he lifts his glass to her for a celebratory clink. ]
Wonderful! We're getting along better already.
[ he takes a second to flip through to another random page of their game questions. as for their other 'task'... ]
How are you liking the wine?
no subject
[ she picks up another glass to take an experimental sip. and then nods. ]
Am I imagining it, but are all of these really strong?
[ she is pretty sure she isn't this much of a lightweight?? ]
no subject
[ his ears are going a little pink by now, though. ]
There's quite a lot left to get through...
no subject
[ hm
she'll shake her head. okay! back to business! ]
Let's get to the next question.
no subject
Finish this sentence: “My husband is really good at ____________, but ___________, not so much.”
[ hm. ]
no subject
hm. ]
You're really good at... swordsmanship, but bad at... flirting?
[ a wild guess. ]
no subject
I think that should count as a half-point—you know me better than I know myself. I think my only attempt at 'flirting' was... how should I put it? Completely disastrous?
[ convenient memshare to emphasize the point. ]
